I've asked this some years in the past but with such a good season we just had, I'm curious what everyone's single favorite song from a new show was.
I think mine was "You, You, You" from THE VISIT.
"All That Matters" from Finding Neverland.
I love this!
I'd say "Ring of Keys" or "Flying Away" from Fun Home. Just beautiful.
An honorable mention to "God, I Hate Shakespeare" from Something Rotten! because I was one of the people who found that song to be brilliant.
LOL. I look forward to starting this thread every year.
It's a good one, and I'm sure the responses are usually vast and interesting.
I'm guessing after I see it tomorrow night something from Fun Home will take top billing for me. In the meantime, I can't stop playing "You, You, You "from the Visit over in my head.
Ring of Keys, no question.

I've got two: "Changing My Major" and "The Night the Pugilist Learned How to Dance"
Can't decide between "Rings of Keys" or "Telephone Wire" from Fun Home. (My favorite number is, I think, "Bottom's Gonna Be On Top" from Something Rotten.)
Winter from The Visit. I can still hear Chita screaming "Bring Me Justice!" and it's terrifying.
Mine would be "Days and Days", if we're talking '14-'15 Broadway season and discounting its previous off-B'way life.

Welcome to Our House on Maple Avenue - Fun Home
Let's not forget off-Broadway:
My Shot - Hamilton (can't get it out of my head...and I saw this three months ago!)
I have a few:
"Changing My Major", "Ring of Keys", & "Telephone Wire" from FUN HOME. Hearing each of the Allisons articulate these moments of self-discovery in song is so raw, honest & heartbreaking.
Guilty pleasure: I really adore Laura Michelle Kelly & "All That Matters" from FINDING NEVERLAND.
For me, toss up between the following from Something Rotten:
Welcome to the Renaissance
A Musical
Though I do give honorable mention to the full score of the Visit, and the song Now from Dr. Zhivago.

One more vote for "Ring of Keys"!

Like everyone else:
"Ring of Keys" from Fun Home – no question. Sydney Lucas makes me feel very inadequate. All the Allisons do, actually.
"All That Matters" from Finding Neverland (I'm another Laura Michelle Kelly admirer – had no idea who she was before seeing the show and am now in love). Why is this song in the middle of the first act?
I also loved "A Musical" when I watched it, but that might not be so effective off stage... "Welcome to the Renaissance" is pretty catchy though.
Are we talking revivals as well? If so, Chenoweth's rendition of "Veronique" is ear-popping.

The Night the Pugilist Learned How to Dance - The Last Ship
When Your Feet Don't Touch the Ground - Finding Neverland
Days and Days - Fun Home
But the best performed song of the season is Ring of Keys as sung by Sydney Lucas in Fun Home
Didn't really have one favorite song this season. Highlights for me were What Say You, Meg from Last Ship, A Little Bit Less Than from It Shoulda Been You, and God I Hate Shakespeare from Something Rotten. Not really in love with any of the songs from Fun Home, but Telephone Wire would definitely be my favorite of the bunch.

I think we're just doing Broadway, Play Esq. So Hamilton excluded.
"Ring of Keys" from Fun Home is the one that's been sticking with me. I also love "All This Time" and "What Say You, Meg" from The Last Ship.
I'm including off-Broadway, because that's where my favorite musicals were this year.
"Four Friends" from Ghost Quartet
"Satisfied" or "The Room Where it Happened" from Hamilton.
