I know nothing about the 'stories' but am quite happy to waste time reading trivia about Ms Dunaway---thank you all in advance.
when this news broke this morning, i haven't seen that many text messages since, well, she announced the wrong oscar that year.
there is no way on in the world this will actually happen
and if it does i am so there
Why do you think there's no way it will actually happen?
I know Faye is considered quite eccentric (bat**** crazy) but she did that long Master Class nat'l tour (saw her in three different cities in Texas and loved it) and this is a limited run in the same location.
Just wondering why BW posters think this is a definite no go.

Totally agree. Faye has had so many iconic performances in so many classic films from the 60's. 70's and 80's. I can't speak for the gossip concerning her personality in past situations since I wasn't there. I can only speak about my own personal experiences with her, since obviously I was there. The three times I was in her company she could not have been nicer, friendly and professional.

Trigger warning or Twitter war?

You ARE aware Faye did that MASTER CLASS National Tour almost 22 years ago.
David Letterman: can you give us, without going into too much detail, just what the friction was with you and Faye Dunaway?
Bette Davis: just that she was not professional. You would sit and wait in the heat in Denver for an hour and a half and wait for her for every shot… One day she did not appear and I saw all these extras sitting around doing nothing so I decided to entertain them singing I’ve written a letter to daddy, they seem to enjoy that! And well it just goes on and on and on… She’s not professional… Everything is about her… And I am not the only one who feels this way… This is sort of mutual.

train wreck lol
So funny that Bette hated both Mommie Dearests.
I sincerely hope this happens so I can be there.
She may need the money.

The last thing I saw her in outside the Oscar debacle was when she judged that WB reality show back in 2005 called The Starlet. She and Vivica A. Fox were actually pretty good giving acting advice and critiquing performances and such. I remember Faye Dunaway loving the role she was playing as the "harsh judge". She liked the spotlight.

I won't go into any detail because I don't think it's proper to reveal specifics that were part of private conversations. I will say this: one well-known actor who spilled out everything in an interview, called me the next day and asked me not to use what he'd said about Dunaway. He felt she had serious problems and it wasn't right to air them in a public forum. I respected his wishes.
Let's put it this way: Dunaway directed the MASTER CLASS movie forever and it was never released. Let that speak for itself.
Yes, funding for her film version of "Master Class" fell through in the middle of the shoot - very unfortunate. With that delay, she lost the rights, and HBO grabbed it. They announced that Mike Nichols was going to direct with Meryl Streep as Maria Callas, and then he passed away shortly after that, and nothing ever came of it.
It's no big secret that she can be a terror.
I saw her several times in the National Tour of "Master Class" in 1997 and it was one of the most extraordinary performances I've ever seen. She was incredible - brilliant.

Haha yes, I am aware (EVERYTIME I look in the mirror) but I didn't think age was being considered the issue. Faye turns 78 in January but there are older stars doing Broadway and at least it's not a touring situation, and Faye moved back to NYC last year.
I hope it happens. It will be exciting to see Faye try to embody the classic Hepburn voice.
Any guesses as to who the actor male or female that dished on Dunaway then requested it be off the record? Just a hint please Dollypop?
I do believe some of Dunaway's behavior can be attributed to disorders. But God knows she ain't the only one with those issues in that crazy business called show.

AS we all know, the chances of Dunaway returning to Broadway this summer drastically improved shortly after midnight on January 15, 2019 !
Speaking of which - any new information available on this Dunaway project? One of the sites which piced up this news back in December said more info - including the theater - would be announced at the beginning of this year, and we're already heading into March. Does anyone know if this is still happening ?
She was on the schedule at a summer theatre with this for a few weeks in June/July. That has been removed and replaced with no reason given.
"BroadwayWorld has learned today that Tea at Five, which marks Academy Award®-winning legend Faye Dunaway's anticipated return to the stage, has set a pre-Broadway engagement at Boston's Huntington Theatre this summer and then open on Broadway later this year at a theater to be announced."
YaY!
i will be surprised if this actually happens
Any guesses as to why it's playing Boston this summer before it comes to NY for a limited run? (Actually. Boston is less than an hour from me, so I may see it there if my schedule permits).

Money (or rather lack thereof).

It's an out-of-town tryout. I don't know how much they could learn from a 2-week run, though. It's not like the author/director would have much time to make any substantial changes in that time.
The articles made it sound like this was being presented by the Huntington Theatre Company (like many other "enhancement" deals with nonprofits such as Weinstein and Finding Neverland at the ART). But it's commercial producers renting out the Huntington space. I think Dunaway/Hepburn could be a big draw for an older, theater-loving audience.
It was originally set for four weeks at Ogunquit Playhouse. They had informed groups and subscribers. Suddenly, it was replaced by Cabaret. No reason given. Then the news about Huntington came up.
