What are the orchestra seats at the Broadway theater like? Am planning on booking a ticket to see 'Fiddler' in December. Thx.

Only 10 days left until previews begin. Also this WSJ interview with choreographer Hofesh Shechter has some really interesting stuff including some things from Bartlett Sher: http://www.wsj.com/articles/broadways-new-fiddler-on-the-roof-with-a-modern-dance-twist-1447104095

never have seen this show - and figured if Bart Shear is directing this would be the production to see

I agree VernonGersch, Bartlett Sher's work ARE the productions to see either original or revival. He has already become a master of his own craft that honors the original intentions of the creators of the great musicals of the golden age while bringing his own fresh perspective in them. If the current revival of THE KING AND I wasn't proof then I don't know what will. I hope to see both THE KING AND I (for the second time) and FIDDLER ON THE ROOF in January so I can't wait.

Here's a picture of Danny Burnstein as Tevye in the revival of Fiddler on the Roof.

That is a great photo! Thanks for sharing Musical Master. I really want to see this on stage again. FIDDLER is one of my top 10 favorite musicals of all time. I just love everything about it and when it's done right it's just glorious!

I'm excited. I love the movie but I've never seen it on stage. Hopefully it will still be playing next fall when I make my annual New York trip.

Thanks Carlos. This picture is the first photo of Danny in costume from the show's official Facebook and I think Danny looks great. Plus with Bartlett Sher, Hofesh Schecther, Michael Yeargan, Catherine Zuber, and Donald Holder in charge of this new revival, I think it's gonna be epic.

While I'm really excited about this new production, I hope it's still traditional. You can add grit to "Miss Saigon", but I just hope it works in "Fiddler". I am cautionly optimistic. I can't wait to hear the early preview reviews from all of you. I especially enjoy reading everyone's different takes on this. I've said it before and still feel it's amazing how everyone sees the same thing, and everyone has a different opinion or feeling on it. I'm going in mid December and am counting the days.

It may be a year late, but I really like this statement. When an opera company rolls out Carmen every other year it's not a revival, it's just part of their repertoire.
Why is Gypsy revived so often? Because there is always an actress around who wants an automatic Tony nomination and a good shot at a win.
Going to Fiddler on Sunday. Only time I've ever seen it was at the Bellport Gateway on Long Island. The score is so strong that I think it may be given less attention than it deserves. I've seen several Broadway anthologies where it wasn't represented at all.

I have a feeling this production will be incredibly lackluster.

I kinda disagree, the 2004 revival was worse than this is looking like and besides this will be done (sans choreographer) by the same team who have given us the amazing, breathtaking and beautiful revivals of The King and I and South Pacific.

Sitzprobe? You mean the footage with the cast? I thought that was really good.

It's interesting to see in that choreo video that not one of the dancers process the same feeling or authenticity as the choreographer. You can tell he is living the movement. The contrast was quite striking to me.

Is that a good thing or a bad thing?
