Me, too. I want to see it as pure and traditional as it can be. I have a feeling Sher will do some great things with it.

There is no doubt Sher will direct a first-class revival full of vision, beauty, cultural and historical authenticity, and warmth.
But oh man The Broadway? - such a monstrosity of a theater. If anything will get me back into this barn, it will be a Sher revival!
I'm pretty sure it was the Broadway Theater in which I saw Zero in the early 70's revival of Fiddler. The size of the theater suited him and the production just fine as I recall.
Not sure which theater it was where I first saw Fiddler on the Roof on Broadway (ETA: just checked--it was the Imperial)-- regardless, it was the first Broadway musical I ever saw, then starring the nearly forgotten Harry Goz (who also seemed to fill his theater with no apparent difficulty).

"I wonder what the new production's choreographer Hofesh Shecther will bring to the table when it comes to "based on original conceptions and dances by Jerome Robbins". If it's just like what Joshua Bergasse did in ON THE TOWN and Christopher Gattelli's work on THE KING AND I; then I'm in."
Aren't they contractually obligated to use much of Robbin's choreography?

Who would she play? Fyedka?
Laura Michelle Kelly should reprise her role of Hodel
No she shouldn't.
It would be nice to see how much she's changed in the last 10 years.
She's way too old for the role.
That's true. It would be utterly fascinating to see how much Laura Michelle Kelly has grown over the last 10 years.

Sally Murphy was 38 when she played Tzeitel (who, according to Golde, is "not yet 20") in the last revival.

Actually, Sally Murphy was 41/42. (Not sure what she publicly gives as her age, but she was born in October 1962). However, she has always read considerably younger throughout her career, and she didn't seem too mature for the role.
Laura Michelle Kelly, however, DID seem a bit mature for Hodel ten years ago, when she was the right age (or close to it). Add that to the fact that she wasn't that great to begin with.
Alexandra Socha would make a terrific Tzeitel or Hodel.
...The last revival, which was criticized a great deal for its casting.
Here's an image that I think could be the revival's poster artwork.

Can't believe I am about to say this but I never saw Fiddler on the Roof before. Glad it's coming back and finally get a chance to see it!
I really love the artwork for this.
I really love the art work too. One of the best artworks of recent years
Hopping into the party late (as I just came across the shows official website: http://fiddlerontheroof2015.com) and backing my comment from last month on what this revival will offer marketing wise that the last few revivals did not: I absolutely love the artwork for this. Wow.
Wow, that artwork looks amazing on it's website. I hope that the artwork is kept for the whole run.
Danny Burstein performed at IPW 2015 in Orlando today, along with a few other Broadway shows.

I thought that was true of The King and I, but I guess enough was changed to get Gattelli a Tony nomination. (Although I thought the highlight of The King and I was the Small House of Uncle Thomas ballet, which I thought was all the original Robbins choreography.)

Previews are now beginning November 12 (five days earlier than previously announced), with an opening of December 17, at the Broadway Theatre.
They are opening a lot earlier now. I wonder why they originally had a long preview period. They were about to do a Honeymoon in Vegas
