I saw some bootlegs of Finding Neverland and for 2 million dollars (apparently they will spend 10 million on Broadway) It looks really quite great with great direction great song and performances. With would we be a Tony winning one from Mr Jordan (hopefully Mat will not ruin it ). It has made me want to go thats it I am going to New York 14 hours away to see this.
And yes the producers are annoying but they do know what I want

A $2,000,000 budget used well is what the OP wants, apparently.

"It looks really quite great"
Looks can be deceiving.
$10M isn't much these days for a big musical - much of that will go towards things not on the stage. But hopefully some major rewrites and the two new leading men will spice things up. What I saw in Boston was dull and not very challenging - sad that such interesting source material got dumbed down in its musicalization when it could have raised it.

Posted: 12/31/14 at 12:45amI know I'm not the majority opinion on this show, but I loved it specifically because I found it the opposite of dull. I found it riddled with contradictions in a fascinating way. All the definitions were slippery: what is childhood? what is happiness? what is Neverland? The definitions kept changing, and to me, this created depth and complexity. I also LOVED the music and choreography -- and the fast pacing -- but I wouldn't have been as enthralled (and seen it repeatedly) without the conceptual contradictions. They worked for me.

Tell us more about how the producers annoy you.

Posted: 12/31/14 at 1:38amA play's needs and a musical's needs are different things, and the only musical to come direct from the ART To Broadway is Pippin, which isn't a huge technical marvel.

Have you heard of the Tony winning revival of Porgy and Bess?

What I saw in MA was not just dull, it was laugh out loud ridiculous. It will be interesting to see what they do (if anything) to fix this show. Nothing less than a complete overhaul was needed IMHO, but so many people LOVED it that I fear the creators will think tinkering will be enough.
It won't be.
It will be interesting to hear people's reactions when it begins previews.
