First Broadway Show - Starlight Express in 1987
Also saw Les Miserables (with Gary Morris), original cast of Into the Woods, Coastal Disturbances (with Tim Daly and Annette Bening), and one of the last casts of A Chorus Line. I loved it all, but remembering not being that impressed with A Chorus Line.
I saw a non-equity production of A Chorus Line that had more heart than the one I saw on Broadway in 1987.

My first trip to Broadway was in 1996 and I had the privelage to see Jerry Lewis as Appelgate in "Damn Yankees!" From that day forward my dream role has been Joe in the show, and have since wanted nothing more than to be on Broadway. It's amazing that all it takes is being inspired by one show and now 11yrs later, i'm moving to NYC in AUG! WOW! Broadway inspires indeed!

FIRST SHOW ON BROADWAY: Wicked, December 2005
(Living on the other side of the pond, it's hard for me to get over often...)
FIRST SHOW EVER (Probably West End): Not sure, probably Les Mis or Cats (ugh), it would have been 1993 or 4, I would have only been about 2 or 3 years old. Haven't stopped since. I've now seen Les Mis about 6 times. Unfortunatley, I've seen Cats about 3 times.

The rain we knew is a thing of the past -
deep-delving, dark, deliberate you would say
browsing on spire and bogland; but today
our sky-blue slates are steaming in the sun,
our yachts tinkling and dancing in the bay
like racehorses. We contemplate at last
shining windows, a future forbidden to no one.

The first show I ever saw on Broadway was Irving Berlin's MISS LIBERTY in the Fall of 1949. The show starred Eddie Albert, Allyn McLerie and Mary McCarty, and introduced the now-standard song "Give Me Your Tired, Your Poor." The choreography was by a young Jerome Robbins.

hmm, saw Les Miserables in Sacramento in April 2003. I was 11. Valjean was an Understudy.
I'm going to NYC this summer with my family (!!!!!) and can't wait to see as many shows as possible. And not just Broadway shows, but off Broadway, off-off Broadway, and anything I can get to.
Sad thing: The Producers is closing before I go. That was the one I wanted to see the most. Depressed.

"You know I can't hear you when the Waters's running", way back when. Don't ask.
"The Magic Show", won the tickets in a sales contest my first real job.
Miss Saigon. The 1st show I bought tickets on my own, and have been hooked ever since!

Shenandoah at the Mark Hellinger around 1977. I had listened to the cast album endlessley. When I saw the show, I had the cast album in my head and didn't understand why the vocal inflections weren't the same (obviously I was seeing the replacement cast not the OBC).

OLIVER, the original, I went backstage to interview Davey Jones (yeah, the Monkee) for my high school newspaper.
An urchin who looked about 7 peeked in the dressing room and said:
"David has a hickie on his prickie!"
ah Broadway.

"But I relish every brillant inspired moment. This is who I'm determined to be- an actor/singer/dancer-no, I take that back, this is who I am. These people are my tribe, my destiny. I know it.
