Mr. Roxy- What was the reason? Was it the cast or the material?

Carrie...wait no...I mean Rockabye Hamlet!!!
Seriously, I would love to see Darling of the Day come back, I got to see it in Illinois and it was great, I love the score and it's a nice charm show.

I only want Rockabye Hamlet if someone is supplying earplugs and cyanide pills....pretty sure my ears bled on that one.
What about Breakfast at Tiffany's? And I totally agree bschneid on the Darling of the Day idea. Maybe a CD Re-issue?
I agree with Breakfast at Tiffany's and Darling of the Day, but please god, no Rockabye Hamlet!
BARE! (enough said)
Rockabye rocked
Marie Christine and Bright Lights Big City. Actually I don't know if Bright Lights was a flop or not but I don't think it lasted long and I would've liked to have seen it live.

Wickedfiyer0-
Bare was NOT a flop, by any means, they just lost their backing. They had extended runs in both LA and at ATA
BARE was sooooo good. I wish they could have gotten backing.
I agree with a revival of 1968's DARLING OF THE DAY. I have the vinyl LP of the show(I don't think it's on CD)and love it. It is good Jule Styne and the plot seems interesting.Apparently the OBC production was poorly directed and stodgy. It only ran for 31 performances at the flop house George Abbott Theatre off the beaten track on 54th Street, east of 7th Avenue.
Another show that could be revived is the 1958 musical OH CAPTAIN! which starred Tony Randall and ran for 192 performances at the Alvin, now the Neil Simon. It has a very likable score( The ballad "Life Does a Man a Favor" is a winner)and an excellent plot based on the fine film "Captain's Paradise". In 1958 it was competing with WEST SIDE STORY and THE MUSIC MAN, but was at least nominated for a Tony, as was Tony Randall. Randall thought the show a good one and had an undeserving short run.
