Sorry, Limelight Mike! I had to beat you to this one, because I love this show so very much. (And I can't remember the last time I started a thread on here!)
Break lots of legs to the talented cast, creatives and crew of this little show with a big heart!!! (Eagerly awaiting the raves!)
I agree, I enjoyed the show very much and it has prompted me to order two of Allison's books on Amazon. I hope the show has some life in an open ended off-Broadway run after its debut at the Public. Don't think this one should go to Broadway as the material is too delicate for non NY theater goers.
we would love to post our review - after 10 of course - but fear that someone will remove it!
Best bet is to check back at 10:01pm tonight and you might be able to catch it before someone removes it :)

Fun Home is in no way a conventional musical. But therein lies the
beauty. It stands alone as one of most poignant and honest productions in
this theatrical genre to grace the stage in quite some time.

Talkin' Broadway is mostly positive, but I really disagree with his conclusion.

I hate reviews like that Time Out NY one. He gave it 4 stars, and yet didn't say a bad thing about it. And even called it ground-breaking. So why not give it 5 stars? Explain yourself!
To be fair,
A) "groundbreaking" does not equal a five-star review.
B) The TimeOut critics have had to face a shrinking word count requirement. I'm sure Feldman would have loved to go into detail, but he simply can't due to space constraints.
And the money review: The New York Times:
All I can say is go, little show, go!
Brantley Reviews "Fun Home"
Yay! Brantley got it right!
Plus, I'm so glad he compared it with Glass Menagerie, another "memory play." That has been going through my head since I saw Fun Home.

Mining comic books for musical inspiration has been met with mixed results, but Fun Home at The Public explores issues more emotionally ripe than radioactive spiders bites. Find out if this story of coming out is worthing getting into in our full review.

Well-deserved reviews so far, for a beautifully-honed piece.

This is why I was so hellbent on rushing the show on Sunday. After these reviews I'm guessing sold out shows will be on the horizon.

All of these reviews are right on. Fun Home is one of the best musicals I've seen in years. Bravo!
Well deserved reviews for this show. I went in with an open mind about it and left fully blown away by the show. Brantley is positive about all the cast and the score, but he's spot on about the songs Cervaris sings. Wonderful show all around. The show soars and it deserves to show a little more.

AndrewSquared, I usually love you guys but that video is an embarrassment. It was like listening to Norm Crosby mangling the English language. Did you get comped? You get people's names wrong but think Cole Escola should play young Aluson? It was at that point I left your video. Elizabeth.
I hope this gets another extension. It deserves it.
