That's exactly what I was implying. I don't think it's dishonest, but you can't call it the most factual musical, by a long shot, simply because it's based on a memoir. I don't think Alison is a liar at all, but like Namo said, she herself talked a lot about human memory error. I've yet to find a musical more factual than the second act of Grey Gardens because it's literally the first Broadway musical (perhaps the first musical ever?) to be based on a documentary. And I do not hate Fun Home at all, before anybody claims that I do. But then again, this is for opinions sake!
