Very glad to have the recording confirmed. Despite a few too many similar ballads for Sherie Rene Scott, I very much enjoyed the score--especially "Invisible," "Madrid" and "Model Behavior."

Here's to hoping they record the original My Crazy Heart and the shot-lived Shoes From Heaven as bonus tracks!

Just watched clips on LCT's website and I want to hear the rest of "Model Behavior"!
LOL.

Yes!!!!! This is a great piece of news to start off the new year. I know opinions vary, but I loved the music in this show.
The Overture is part of the show, people. Please shut your pie hole.

I'm so happy!!!!! This, in my book, is David Yazbek's best score to date!

I am thrilled but have to admitt it is bitter sweet for me since the early close prevented me from seeing the show!

Verge Cast Recording Update?

This WILL get a recording. The show has big stars, it's a famous film and the creative team is also well known. I'd say it will get a recording.

Yes, I win! Because I think the music was very enjoyable and it will be preserved on a recording.

This is good news. At first I found the score a little repetitive but I have started liking the aspects that I have heard more. Will be exciting to hear all the songs especially the full Model Behavior!!

Wasn't a fan of the score, but glad to be able to hear "Lovesick," "Invisible," and of course "Model Behavior" over again!

Yes, let's please preserve this score so that students of musical writing of future generations can study it and learn what NOT to do.
"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

Exciting! I'll enjoy a few of the songs, at least. Hopefully now the show will have a future life in the hands of a director that understands how to handle a farce.
