I heard it was pretty crazy. My friend went and said there were a good amount of people who didn't get anything signed. She said Idina Menzel, Joel Grey, Carole Shelley were there but they left before her group was called up. Norbert, Michelle Federer, Christopher Fitzgerald and William Youmans were also there. Plus, Stephen Schwartz and Greg McGuire.

I wonder what genius thought an hour was enough time.

There was a post awhile ago saying that since she is contracted with Sony in would go against her contract to publicly endorsed another company's cd.

im glad i didn;t slep all the way to the city. cause if i didn't get the autographs i wanted i'd be pissed. see i told u sis!

Don't get me wrong, I think Kristin is a fabulous performer....one of the best out there. But I think her lack of commitment ( 100% commitment) to this show is really unfair to her cast mates and to the audiences. My belief is that if you're going to sign a contract to be in a Broadway show then COMMIT to it. She's done Broadway before so she obviously knows how much work it is. I understand illnesses happen...but I'm sure those weekly flights out to CA aren't helping. I know she is by no means obligated to be at these special events (the signings, the cabaret for BCEFA) but is it really fair that the other leads of the show go to these events and she doesn't? And that they have to be the ones to see disappointed fans expecting to see Kristin there and hear people asking where she is. Why did Bernadette Peters and Donna Murphy get slammed for missing a couple of performances but no one seems to really mind the tons of performances Kristin has missed? I know I'm being a little harsh but as a paying costumer I'd like to see one of the people I paid to see in a show. I really want to see Wicked again but I don't even know if/when I should get tickets because of the uncertainty of Kristin being there. I'd really like to see Kristin and Idina in it again. I'm sure ( or atleast I hope) Kristin has her own valid reasons for missing these performances and events but it just sucks that so many people have to be disappointed in the process.

I'd think that they wouldn't want her anywhere near the theatre considering strep throat is highly contagious for up to 48 hours. It'd suck to spread that around!

singnyc you make some good points; however, none of us are in a position to judge her because the fact is- none of us really know what is going on in "her" world....

I know how you feel about the signing. I totally forgot, that my anniversary was on Friday and I felt awhile because we talk about it awhile and decided to spent he whole weekend together.

But, if I have gone all the way other and Kristin wasn't there, I would have lost it.

singnyc - I think the same way...I haven't caught the show (in a couple weeks). You would think that after Bernadette was sick last year and it's effect on who won the Tony for Best Actress in a Musical (depends on who you talk to, however.) Plus I truly believe she loves her job and she was born to perform, and you can see it every see her perfom live. Another actress is Sutton Foster.
Is this (very generally) starting to sound like Nathan Lane when he called pit not too long the start of run of The Producers? I know there are some die hard Kristin fans and I totally respect that, but do you think that she's big enough to constantly call out etc..and still expect people to get to tickets to see her, fearing she may call out?
Nathan was slighty different because of his vocal chrods and such. Plus, he sent out signed Playbills to the stage door people. (Please remember to try to to yell at me), that, say, Nathan ad Matthew have? Or thc clout and marketability of Nathan and Matthew?

It's one thing to miss a show because you're ill. I can't begin to judge someone who's personal life i know nothing about (and don't care to...thank you). This is how it effects me. I am a college student who makes about 20,000 a year at my silly little retail job. Twice a year I make an effort to go to new york to see as many shows as I can. These trips usually cost me around 1,000 dollars each. When I come from Chicago to New York to see a show with Kristin Chenoweth, well you betcha by golly wow she better be in that show!!! If I don't end up seeing the stars I came to see (which i understand is always a risk with live entertainment) then I have wasted not only my ticket price but my air fare, my hotel, and all the time I have requested off of work. And I am one person...imagine all the other people in the auidience of the HUGE Gershwin theater who have either come from far away and have no means of coming back...or even people who don't really have the money to spend on a broadway show but have gone out of their way to save up. The very idea of a performer missing a performance out of anything other than nessecity makes my skin crawl. Ick ugh ick. Even if the understudy does turn out to be wonderful it very rarely redeems the dissapointment. And can we be real for just a second Broadwaylilhead...None of us are in a position to judge her? Well, I think paying 100 dollars a ticket gives someone plenty of room to judge. And as for what's going on in "her world"...What? Can you imagine if any of us called in to our straight jobs (which we'd only have been working at since october by the way) because there was something going on in "our world" and we just couldn't handle retail today. Particularly if our shift was only 3 hours. I don't think "our world" would include a job for very much longer. Um so yeah...i'm glad i worked through that. I did catch the full cast in Wicked without understudies and I liked all of them very much indeed. So. Deep Breath. That's done.

I hate to break it to you but pretty much all Broadway performers put in more than just their 2-3 hours a day. There's a lot more that goes on then what yo see up on stage.

why does she fly out to LA so much?? how do you guys know that she does?? thanks :)
