i'm sad to see both go
i enjoyed Charity a lot, mainly because of Christina and a talented cast
i also like Chitty, and Jan Maxwell better be back on stage ASAP!
Jan Maxwell is going into ENTERTAINING MR. SLOANE with Alec Baldwin and Richard Easton.
thanks for the excellent news, Jan Maxwell is really one of the only parts of Chitty that made the $50 tickets worth it

I saw Sweet Charity on the 17th, and even though I knew nothing about it going in, I really enjoyed it. I thought Christina was really good, as well as all the other actors and dancers. It is definetely a shame that it was so short-lived on broadway...
Glad that Maxwell has something coming up. She's so incredible.
I saw Chitty yesterday and it was so fantastic, I wish I were seeing it today because I'm going to miss it. I don't get what people don't like about it; I think it's a fantastic production with a pretty stellar cast. I was looking forward to seeing Erin Dilly but I didn't get to see her before she got all pregnant :) but her standby was entirely charming anyway. Anyway I just loved it and I'm really disappointed to see it go.
And although I didn't totally love Charity when I saw it, I did have a good time and I sort of wish that was sticking around, too. Oh, well.

I admit, I've never been a fan of 'Chitty' but I'll miss Sweet Charity so much! Christina Applegate was amazing, as was the rest of the cast, and I really wish that I had a chance to see it again.

Chitty DID deserve a longer run. The show was AMAZING today! I am really speechless and I was just so sad to see it end! It was a phenomenal ending to an amazing show!
I'm sad now! I wasn't til someone who was there posted.
I mean, it's cliche and dumb, but it was magical. Innocent fun like that can't hurt.
I'm happy to hear they got a good send-off, though.

any news (or pics) on Charity's closing yet? at all...
It's still going on.
Aw, I'm sad about Chitty. I don't know much about Charity, but not much can beat Raul singing "Hushabye Mountain." Except maybe Raul singing "Time Warp."

okay, now charity is "dead", and currently in broadway heaven.
*sigh* hope it will come back to earth for me to see it sometime...
before i go to sleep, i will just make a few quick comments about Charity's closing performance. the cast had TONS of energy and there were a bunch of ad libs from the leads, which made it a lot of fun. christina got like 3 minutes of applause on her entrance. each musical number was greeted with tons of applause and cheering. unfortunately, the theater was less than half full (probably due to the $111.25 for every seat). christina, sadly, did not give a closing speech. overall, i saw this show 6 times on broadway and LOVED it. christina really proved herself to be worthy of broadway. i am so glad the show did not end up closing in boston. congrats to the cast and crew.
