i'm sad to see both go
i enjoyed Charity a lot, mainly because of Christina and a talented cast
i also like Chitty, and Jan Maxwell better be back on stage ASAP!

Posted: 12/31/05 at 1:24pmthanks for the excellent news, Jan Maxwell is really one of the only parts of Chitty that made the $50 tickets worth it

Posted: 12/31/05 at 1:34pmI saw Sweet Charity on the 17th, and even though I knew nothing about it going in, I really enjoyed it. I thought Christina was really good, as well as all the other actors and dancers. It is definetely a shame that it was so short-lived on broadway...

I saw Chitty yesterday and it was so fantastic, I wish I were seeing it today because I'm going to miss it. I don't get what people don't like about it; I think it's a fantastic production with a pretty stellar cast. I was looking forward to seeing Erin Dilly but I didn't get to see her before she got all pregnant :) but her standby was entirely charming anyway. Anyway I just loved it and I'm really disappointed to see it go.
And although I didn't totally love Charity when I saw it, I did have a good time and I sort of wish that was sticking around, too. Oh, well.

not much to say to "chitty", but i am in complete mourning bout "sweet charity"!!!! the cast was sooo amazing, yes, even christina, the songs were incredible, i have listened to that cd too many times to count, it just draws me in, and i will miss this sooo much for i never got to see it (had 2 huge oppertunties, each one failed though), so now i am sad!!! its such a shame it has to close
ill be making a new icon soon enough bout charity...
and btw, i loved janine lamanna the most in the cast of SC. anyone know what show she might do next, or how i could contact her?

Posted: 12/31/05 at 3:23pmI admit, I've never been a fan of 'Chitty' but I'll miss Sweet Charity so much! Christina Applegate was amazing, as was the rest of the cast, and I really wish that I had a chance to see it again.

I'm sad now! I wasn't til someone who was there posted.
I mean, it's cliche and dumb, but it was magical. Innocent fun like that can't hurt.
I'm happy to hear they got a good send-off, though.

Posted: 12/31/05 at 9:30pmAw, I'm sad about Chitty. I don't know much about Charity, but not much can beat Raul singing "Hushabye Mountain." Except maybe Raul singing "Time Warp."

okay, now charity is "dead", and currently in broadway heaven.
*sigh* hope it will come back to earth for me to see it sometime...

Posted: 1/1/06 at 1:40ambefore i go to sleep, i will just make a few quick comments about Charity's closing performance. the cast had TONS of energy and there were a bunch of ad libs from the leads, which made it a lot of fun. christina got like 3 minutes of applause on her entrance. each musical number was greeted with tons of applause and cheering. unfortunately, the theater was less than half full (probably due to the $111.25 for every seat). christina, sadly, did not give a closing speech. overall, i saw this show 6 times on broadway and LOVED it. christina really proved herself to be worthy of broadway. i am so glad the show did not end up closing in boston. congrats to the cast and crew.
