This scene doesn't feel live for some reason. But she nailed it!
Yes the sound went out for a long period here as well.

Agreed. She is more suited to play Sandy then she was Sherrie I think.
Wow! Julianne Hough nailed Hopelessly Devoted to You! Perfect!
I really thought Julianne hough hit it out of the park on hopelessly devoted.

Tveit seems more like a Link Larkin than a Danny Zuko!

Did anyone else catch that hopelessly devoted to you had a lot of static out of the right speaker for the entire song which ruined a very nice version by Julianne
watching from Canada on CTV was wondering if the same thing occurred on fox in the US

Sandy's dancing was better than Cha-Cha's.
I want to be Aaron's dance belt.

I think he played Link back in the day, it was his Broadway debut

Yeah, heard the static throughout most of it. Maybe it's just the way it was shot, but it didn't seem live to me.
Yes, the sound was garbled during her solo.

That was rather electrifying!
Fox should do West Side Story
I have loved Miss Hough for her dancing and personality but was never a fan of her singing. But she sang the hell of that song! And sounds great tomight!

Much better -- they couldn't get someone that could dance to play Cha-Cha ??!

Yep. He was my first Link in 2006!
The live audience sort of works, but seems forced. We get no reaction from them from the dialogue parts.
I wonder if the live audience can even hear the dialogue? I feel like there might not be speakers amplifying the dialogue to the live audience as that would only further complicate the balance of the live mix.

Here in Atlanta, not only did the sound go wonky, but the feed got dropped & "rewound" to the "Greased Lightning" scene. Finally rejoined the live feed at the end of "Hopelessly Devoted," but the sound was a mess & the video kept getting interrupted by Hulu ads.
Other than that, I'm enjoying this more than I'd expected. Not my favorite show, but from a technical standpoint it's very impressive. I imagine a live "West Side Story" broadcast would fit this kind of production like a glove.
Also, can a law be passed that Aaron Their is only allowed to appear in public in sleeveless shirts, or less?
Tveit is giving me some serious "90210" flashbacks !!

I am sure the live audience is being prompted when to cheer and clap maybe thats why they are not responding to the dialogue.

Blanche is honestly the best part about this. She is cracking me up!!
This cast is redefining Grease for a new generation. Grease will live on...This show is so much a part of American popular culture and musical theater history....it achieved being the longest running show on Broadway and it's film adaptation became one of the biggest movie musicals in movie history and dare I say that this live broadcast is just another feather in this musical's cap.
