I doubt they(the producers) care. The show's bringing in $2 million a week. It really doesn't matter at this point who's playing what role.

I'll miss seeing Renee by just a few days.  Bummer.  But at least she has a great replacement!

What role? Lafayette/Jefferson? Sydney doesn't cover that track. Andrew Chappelle, Seth Stewart, and as of yesterday Jevon McFerrin are covering it.

Completely agreed with you, neon, on the production management comment. Unfortunately, it really is a matter of producers not caring. They're making bank, so they can drop these announcements whenever they feel like it.

I mean, it's not just about the announcements. It's about the fact that they don't seem to know how long any of the OBC was planning to extend for. They specifically put out a release saying Renee was leaving in October and now they're like JK, next week. That's bad people management.

Playbill Vault has Harcourt listed as a Lafayette/Jefferson u/s. They also don't list McFerrin.

Sydney has never gone on for Lafayette/Jefferson, as far as I know. But ok.

Look, I'm the first to call out bad management on a show, but you can't assume that's the case with Renee leaving earlier. They could have been told that she was leaving in October back when they sent out the press release. Filming schedules/actors' plans and health change which can affect their end date. To assume management somehow knew that things would change that much is a pretty big leap.

 

And while the Lafayette/Jefferson casting is odd, there is the distinct possibility that they had someone in mind who then fell through. Who knows.

I'm not calling out bad management just because Renee is leaving early. I'm calling it out because of an abundance of things that have been happening in this calendar year alone. This is just the latest.

Probably only got the job because of who his father is. Connections.  I think Hamilton management is horrible BTW. Agree totally with the posters here who have stated the same.
