Which he didn't do, he was talking about perception. Jesus Christ dude, stop trying to be so tough.

"It is interesting that when BVD was interviewed, he mentioned that he turned down the offer to play Burr three times before he finally accepted. There was much discussion on this board about poor management and the lack of adequate replacement, when in fact, they had a very strong candidate targeted and went after him repeatedly. "
Yeah he did. Not trying to be tough. Just trying to be accurate.
It is astonishing how quickly a thread about facts and hopes turns into a pontification on how a show should be "managed" according to the self-appointed experts on this board who know zero about what is going on casting-wise behind the scenes. Oh, and by the way, an understudy playing a principal role necessarily earns considerably more than a principal is required to be paid.
Not that this means anything, but this Thursday marks two full months since Daveed left Hamilton. I still think it's crazy we don't yet have a full-time Laf/Jef.

It's crazy, isn't it? I'll answer my own question: YES.

I'm with you on this neonlightsxo. Pretty weird they haven't found a replacement.
I would love to see Lea Michele as Eliza one day

Oh god no

This is the worst dream casting I've ever read.... Ever. And I've read a dream casting for Aaron Tveit as the Wizard in Wicked....

No. Please no. Just no..
Lea Michele to play Eliza in the film adaptation of Hamilton!
but really, say what you want about the girl but she can sing her face off.

She's very talented but Eliza needs an actress with subtlety...and she isn't a POC.
Lea's a belter. Eliza is belting role not.

Angelica would probably be closer to a fit for Lea Michele.

THIS WILL NOT HAPPEN. Why is this completely unrealistic idea even being entertained by multiple people here?

Ha maybe she will be cast in the CA=California productions lol (Have Canada touring productions been announced??!) ! I doubt since she's not a POC but some people posting here seems to have conveniently forgotten that detail. And I doubt she herself would agree she's quite a star now!

CA = California or Canada?
You mean like when people were replying to Playbill saying Michael Cerveris or Hugh Panaro should be the King in the then-upcoming King and I? Yep, whatever's convenient, regardless of what's right!
Don't know if he can rap, or if it has been suggested before, but Joel Perez could be a great choice for Laf/Jeff. He looks the part with that gorgeous face and has such an amazing voice and stage presence. He was in In The Heights tour, so I hope he considers auditioning for this.
I totally forgot that Joel Perez is currently with Sweet Charity. If the Bway transfer doesn't happen, maybe he can join Hamilton come January? That might explain why the replacement hasn't been announced - it's because they're waiting for Perez to become available. It's pure speculation of course, but who knows.
Wouldn't they have cast someone in the interim rather than wait several months?

Just for future posterity of this thread, we found out today that Seth Stewart's taking over Laf/Jef for the rest of the calendar year.

I said this a week ago and know it all neon brushed me off. The poster outside clearly lists him as a principal. But neon said that didn't necessarily mean anything. Just saying.

You didn't know it as a fact, you just mentioned the poster. You happened to be right. My point was that a poster doesn't necessarily mean anything. But OK.
Hooray Seth!
For a person who has posted multiple times about how they have given up trying to understand how Hamilton casting works, you sure attack anyone who comes up their own ideas a bit too much, neon. :)
