What a load of BS. There's no good reason they couldn't resell the SRO tickets. Let a few of the many people in that cancellation line into the show. That's pretty inconsiderate of the show.
"Contentment, it seems, simply happens. It appears accompanied by no bravos and no tears."
The in-person lottery is a safety hazard. I got yelled at by a cop bc I had to go in the street to get past the mob. It's obnoxious.
Also just because they have a hit show the box office staff doesn't have to be so condescending and rude. Plus there's a security guard telling anyone in line at the box office you can only get tickets from July to October. Who asked you?
They need to fight out something more respectful for people in the cancellation line. It's too cold. The box office staff isn't supremely busy sending people away that they couldn't take a few names and numbers.

Inconsiderate? No, it's awfully nice to be able to throw a few local family members a bone to get to see the show for a change...especially understudies/swings.
They didn't want people whining MORE that the digital was unfair....the same reason they didn't give cancellation line the lottery tix.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?
These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.
For some reason I get so angry with people who are complaining about this.
Accidents happen. They are doing what they can. They could have just said, "Nah, we know people will pay full price so we are gonna just cancel the lotto for the winter." But they didn't.
