Hey, rubydoo, I just bought 250 tickets for Hardbody at StudentRush.Org, and I'm gonna scalp 'em all out front at the theatre.

"For what they do for me, I like to help them out."
Yes, when one does not support the arts financially, one is frightened that the gravy train may disappear.

Complete rubbish.
Just because someone is seeing the show and not paying top $$ does not mean they are not supporting the arts. In fact, that's exactly what they are doing by giving their time to support a new show that is struggling to find a paying audience. Shows that offer offer comp seats need butts in the seats to support the cast in putting on the best show possible. And occasionally they will even directly survey the audience to solicit opinions on what patrons thought of the show, how it can be improved, etc.
Quit being so snobbish. I agree with Ruby though I probably wouldn't have flamed up quit the way he/she did. That said, anytime I utilize comp tix to a show, mum's the word. I might casually mention it to a friend, etc but it is strictly forbidden to discuss the particulars on social media or even outloud at said performance. So I think people should have some respect and common decency!

By the same token, the show that can't get anyone to support them at a ticket price higher than "free" will not be open long.
Case in point...

I don't think paying nothing counts as not paying "top dollar." It's paying no dollar. And that doesn't feed Hungry Hunter Foster.

Posted: 4/9/13 at 10:53amI used to play Hungry Hungry Hunter Fosters all the time when I was a kid.

Posted: 4/9/13 at 11:55amSo is the production going to be Tony-eligible or not?
#84HARDBODY to Close 4/13
Posted: 4/9/13 at 12:01pmI can't imagine that there's been time for a significant number of Tony voters to attend, but who knows?
#85HARDBODY to Close 4/13
Posted: 4/9/13 at 12:14pmLEAP OF FAITH only played 24 previews and 20 performances. I'm thinking that HARDBODY will surpassed that by the time it closes.

I'll have to remember that logic. Next time someone gives me free tickets for something I wanted to go to, instead of thanking them, I'll ask them to thank me for the generous giving of my time to attend and support the event. I like it.
According to Playbill.com, they will have played 28 and 28.

"Just clap really loud."
Hey, it worked to keep Tinkerbell alive
#89HARDBODY to Close 4/13
Posted: 4/9/13 at 1:12pmHunter Foster may flit around the room like Tinkerbell when nobody is watching but he needs a star salary to keep him and his wife in the lifestyle to which they would like to become accustomed.

Posted: 4/9/13 at 1:17pmOftentimes I pay less to see a Broadway show than I would to see a movie. Of course, if no one is watching you can sneak into a dark theater to watch The Croods for free, but it's easier to sign up for a padding service or studentrush.org to get a $5 ticket than to get a free movie service.

Posted: 4/9/13 at 1:55pmAnybody know where I can get a window card(poster) of this show. I already tried Triton in NYC.

Dear Friends,
Due to the indiscretion of yesterday's post, StudentRush.Org has to stop offering these tickets. I hope the people who thought it was funny perhaps, now, will understand that it hurts everyone when these incidents occur. I wouldn't be surprised if the site started chatrging a annual subscription fee for membership.
Very sad for all StudentRush.oOrg members.

Posted: 4/9/13 at 2:39pmHey DooDoo, those $5 tickets. Not exactly helping the show. You want to see the show then get your ass in the Rush line, do some work. And It's still pretty damn funny.

They're not offering them anymore because they sold out of them, dummy.
And you seem to still be posting about the damn site so aren't you to blame as well?
