I know there has been some discussion of the show in another thread but wanted to start a fresh one for reviews of people seeing the show tonight and throughout the preview period.
I think the papering has precluded most people from caring about the rush policy yet.
There seems to be conflicting rush information because Playbill said there was a $35 student rush policy.
a limited number of student tickets at $35 are available through TIX4STUDENTS — an annual membership program for students 18 years and older that provides access to purchase tickets online in advance — at Tix4Students.com.
BWW however was reporting rush tickets for $42 in the balcony (can't find the actual link to that though). The show is selling so poorly I'm guessing you could ask the box office to sell you something on the cheap.
Clyde, I think all seats were $43 on Tupac's birthday, which would have been his 43rd, if that's what you're referring to?
Looking forward to hearing what people think about it!

Act one was a little slow but enjoyable enough.

I agree so far. I suspect I will like this more than most posters.
I'm glad to hear that act one wasn't a total bust. I hope people give it a chance. At least they're trying something a little bit different. I just hope it doesn't succumb to poor marketing like THE BRIDGES OF MADISON COUNTY.

The show just ended 10 mins ago. It's not the train wreck I expected but it is probably the most boring musical I've ever seen. Will have a full review when I get home if I don't fall asleep first.

I really liked it. The first act could use a trim or a little faster pace. But as a whole it is throughly enjoyable. Great message.
it is probably the most boring musical I've ever seen.
Agreed and I'm only basing this on the first act as I didn't see a point in staying.
How'd the orchestra stadium seating look? Was it as seamless as they'd hoped? What did the house look like when you walked in?

It is pretty seamless. You walk in and there is a big wall with graffiti coving it. They have walk ways to take up to the front of theater to access the stadium seating. I don't see why they did it because most of the show plays in the middle of the stage.

You see a mural that was painted on the back of the orchestra stadium seating. They also had some pieces from the National Hiphop Museum. Yeah, the book is very thin and does drag, but the score more than made it up for me. Tonya is wasted here, she has about a minute of a solo, a few book scenes, and maybe a little more singing. Christopher Jackson I thought was very good. The sound design was excellent, as well as the lighting. I enjoy that type of music, so I might not be the proper judge of the score. There wasn't very intricate choreography. We were on the street at about 10:45. They could cut another scene and it would be in better shape.

I loved the set design, the music, and Christoper Jackson.
Other than that? Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz...........
Where's Whizzer? I need a detailed report. What's the design like?
I always love a Whizzer review...
So they just left the rest of the rear orchestra seats as they were? That's...bizarre. I was kinda hoping to have them removed or covered.
Whizzer...Whizzer...Whizzer...Whizzer...
(I can't tell if that's in the voice of a cheering crowd...or a group of zombies).

I requested this in the other thread, but I would really appreciate a song list if anyone has one!
