hey guys! i was just wondering how musical theatre in specific rent, hair and wicked has chamged your life? :) thanks so much
no day but today! -rentheadfevr
rent has totally changed my life because it has taught me to live a life of no regrets. I had an ex boy friend who I found out was diagnosed with aids but watching rent made me more aware that all of this was okay. It made me see how much I have really nothing to be afraid of. Rent gave me the sense to live a full life. To live in the moment and to be okay with life. To go through both the bad days and the good days. It helps me cope with myself. It has taught me to love myself more and to just be at peace with myself. "there's only us, there's only this. forget regrets or life it yours to miss. No other road, no other way. No DAY BUT TODAY." THANK YOU JONATHAN LARSON <3

the purpose of this page is to give me the opportunity to express how "Rent" has affected my life. I never thought anything would affect me like "Rent" has. It has made me a more open and emotional person. It has made me realize that each and every day is a gift, and each person in my life is a gift. Because of "Rent," I make sure that I tell people how I feel about them, and I remind those people who are important to me how much the mean to me often. "Rent" is something that I can relate to because I can see bits and pieces of myself and my friends in the characters.
I thought school started already...
Holliwoodblonde, that exact thought popped into my head.

Oh, when it's your wedding day...
What I find really funny is that when a new member posts a mildly annoying thread, a bunch of other new members come to support them. It's like a cult or something.

Rent/Hair etc have changed my life in a BIG way by giving me something new to sing while puttering around. Everyone was getting SO tired of Aspects of love.

I thought RENT was fabuloso. I felt so good about life afterwards that I went to Corine's Corner for an egg cream but I found out that Corines wasn't there. She was seeing Forbidden Broadway so I went there so find Corine but couldn't find her, so I just stayed and watched the show and liked it a reall lot. So I guess you could say that RENT changed my life by letting me se Forbideen Broadway.
I never did find Corine.

You phrased it perfectly!
How many of these newbies ARE real newbies? How many of the newbies have different identities?

In some way every musical has profoundly changed my life but none more than Godspell, which was, like, Stephen Spielberg or whatever's musical before Wicked.
Because of Godspell I learned that I love nothing more than putting on clown clothes and drinking jug wine from Dixie cups.
Ahh, the drunken clown. Now THAT would change my life.

RENT/HAIR/ANY AMERICAN MUSICAL completely ruined my life.
Thanks for reminding me.

That's ICP and the Dixie Chicks.
I dunno about Rent, but "In My Life" started a new life for me.

RENT changed my life... I think mainly because it had such a powerful message, delivered in such an unbelievable way. I mean, I know there are lots of people who would probably disagree with me, but I personally just can't see how anyone could HEAR those songs and NOT be effected by them. I think Anthony said it at some point.. the music just cute through everything, and really makes you feel all the emotion that is there. So, being that it has such a powerful message to begin with, to add on the fact that the music makes you feel makes it something truly lifechanging. Thats how I feel anyway :) that and, the characters are such that you just CARE about them. So so entirely relatable. Like a bunch of people mentioned in the No Day But Today documentary, everyone has a little bit of each RENT character in them. They're very real. There's not one character that someone wouldn't be able to relate to and say "yeah, I've felt that way too". And so that makes you care about them and feel for them and hurt when they are hurting.
*for the record, I am not saying this as though only my way is the right way of thinking. And I'm not assuming everyone feels this way. I'm just saying this is why it changed MY life personally :) if you disagree, thats awesome! it means you have your own opinions, and thats wonderful!
