I agree MJW is too old even though I love her to pieces!
I really want them to tell us, because it just feel like I can't really move on until they tell do.
I mean offically they have only casted two people so far, but I sure soon there will be a a huge wave of casting anouncements, but the sooner the better!
ahhhh,feel like I'm going compeatly bonkers!

A friend of mine just got called back to screen test for Link tomorrow. They have cast everything but Link and apparently he is reading opposite their tracy. They are branching out to look for people that haven't seen yet as none of the guys have been right for Link so far. This could be interesting.

When i was in london for my screen test there was a really cute guy in for Link.

Bustinloose, your voice isn't too shabby; however, I think they're just about done with Link. I sent in three tapes -- one, my audition tape (ages ago... I don't even remember); two, my first requested tape, with sides and all (I think I sent that in on April 15th or so); three, my second requested tape, which the casting director (or whomever I spoke to on the phone) called and asked me to deliver them with different inflection and expression (basically, re-do my scene under his direction). I sent the third one in around the last days of April. I wasn't called again since I sent in my third, though, and so I assume I'm just out. (And don't console me, as I'm really not bummed at all! Lol!) While they didn't choose me, I'm sure a bunch of others 'went on', so to speak, and that's who they're going with. Anywho, though, it's worth a shot, but I'm afraid it might just be a little late in the game to send in a tape.

I know that there is an Open Call for dancers for the movie on May 21 here in NYC and they are also looking for the 3 women to play the Dynamites. They will be doing a type cut at the audition, so if your not what they are looking for then you might not get to dance for them. Here what it says they want:
Dancers over 18 to play wholesome All-American teenagers who live in Baltimore during the early 60’s. African-American dancers are strongly encouraged to attend.

Note: You must be 18 years old by June 2006 to attend this call.

The Dynamites: Girl group, like the Supremes. Sexy, African-American women, mid 20s-early 30s. Members of The Dynamites should either be strong dancers or strong pop/gospel singers who move well.

Just thought I would let you guys know that!

If there is anyone from the original production who should be in the movie it is Todd Michael Smith... he has been doing it longer than anyone and deserves to have his performance immortalized in the film.

not to mention he is damn cute! ^^

On IMDB they've added Michelle Pfieffer and Rowan Atkinson to the cast list. Michelle as Velma and no character listed so far for Rowan. Nothing on there about Billy Crystal though.

Good luck to all who are auditioning on Sunday. I guess we will know EVERYTHING by either the end of this week or the middle of next week. They got the last of the Link tapes on Friday and the dancers will be cast on Sunday. They already know who everyone else is. This is really exciting. Ladies.....keep your fingers crossed.

I ran into someone who knows someone who knows someone and, from what they said, my name got bandied about a bit. Apparently, they found me too tall (as well as too old). Well... They said 5'3 or under. I'm 5'2. Thought I was in the clear. But he said they really want someone 5'0 or shorter. So all you over Fives, take heart. I mean, it's not like you can shrink.

Still... wish there was any news at all. Would love to put this to bed.

Even if you are a dancer, you have to work as a local hire. They won't pay any expenses, so I am thinking they will be hiring TO based dancers. I was at the audition last Thursday, and they were typing out. They were basically looking for a certain look. Not too many blonds made the cut (after 8 counts of freestyle dance). They loved the redheads!!!!!!

Lori Eve Marinacci, who currently plays Shelley and understudies for Tracy in the Las Vegas show, had an audition for the movie yesterday.

I am not sure what part she auditioned for or how it went. However Lori Eve wrote in refernce to the audition... "...THAT was a bust."

They really are taking there time with these auditions... I guess thats a good thing. I also like that they are looking at people who have been in or are currently in the show.

Hopefully we hear something this month.
