Hi,
I'm a new poster, thought i'd say hi.
i've just finished reading all 21 pages, hungry for info.
i'm in london, and i've got a casting on tuesday for this. i was down to the last few for the west end production before it all got cancelled/postponed/whatever - don't get me started!
i'm trying not to get too excited, especially as I'm the type to think 9 steps ahead. although its a bit exciting to know that i'm auditioning so far down the line, its also good to know that so many people have gone before and not got through, it brings me back down to reality.

all i know is that everyone is getting me to eat, eat, eat! i'm know i'm not as big as they'd like. all i know is its the only time i've been told to put ON weight!

yeah I'm early afternoon, I'm coming from Glasgow, so they gave me a later time. I love that I have to have a pannel of people in my room to tell me if I look fat enough! :) it's great!

hiya! just got back home...it's 1230....still running on the kick of all this! had lots of fun, great to meet you! Things went well today. I would expect that we won't hear anything untill like later this week, coz they are like 8 hours behind us. crazy crazy!
Glad you liked my video, it was fun to make! ha ha!
and Now I sleep!

My Gosh. Does any one know anything? I know that it takes a long time to figure out the "perfect" cast so its not that. It's the not knowing what's going on that's killing me. Someone said something about more people being announced between May 1st and 16th. I guess that means that we will be hearing SOMETHING soon............I hope!

Hiya everyone, I talked to my head of program who is on the pannel for "how do you solve a problem like maria" and she talked to David Grindrod this weekend about the tapes we did Tuesday. I guess they only sent like 3 or 4 of them??? Mine wasn't sent because I looked to old on flim, which is funny coz I've looked the same since I was 14! oh well! at least i was seeen by those guys! Anyway, my friends Erin's tape was sent. I guess they will be contacting people this week from what I understand. Good luck to all you guys! That's all the news I got!

well i heard today that they are now hearing/seeing people in australia, so we'll have to wait a bit longer.
but now i've heard that from you hannah i'm feeling a little more positive, in that at least they didn't say that they hadn't sent my video.

Are they looking for american people who happen to be overseas at the moment? or actors who can do american accents?

well most of the ppl at the UK auditions were brits who do Gen Am accents (or not - one of the lovely girls was really stressing about her lack of expertise!).
you have to be able to do this pretty well to be taken seriously in musical theatre. having said that, i'm sure you guys would pick holes in most of them, in the same way that we do when we hear some americans doing british accents (don't get me started on frasier - daphne moon being from manchester but her brother is an aussie doing a bad cockney accent! )

whoever they get, unless they are a native baltimorean (is that the correct term?!) will have to have some dialect coaching along the way

As far as I know the Baltimore accent isn't crazy, so I think for anyone who's not from the states a general accent will do the trick. Please correct me if I'm wrong,I really don't think Baltimore has some weird accent. But as far as I can remember (I haven't been there in like a year or two) there isn't anything to different from my New Hampshire accent (although, there are some new hampshire accents that are awful) to the Maryland one.
Looking in Austria...that's crazy, they really must be hard up for people, which seems weird! how many open calls did they have in the US/Canada???? like 6? plus a britsh call...crazy.
hummm we'll see.
