I was going to see Ragtime on the 16th, but seeing as it's closing, I have to pick an alternative. Since my parents only want to pay around $40 a ticket, I have it narrowed down to Memphis or Hair. I don't get to see shows that often, so which on is more worth seeing?
I'm open to other suggestions if the ticket prices are cheap enough.
Hair. No question.
As long as you're in the theater. Seriously. Especially if you were going to see Ragtime.
HAIR. Definitely. I saw the show about a week ago and everyone in the rear mezzanine was able to move down as the show started anyway; there were a lot of empty seats/rows in the mid mezz.
Hair. No doubt about it.
Thanks for your opinions, I'm leaning towards Hair.
And slightly unrelated, but how do you get refunds for tickets if the show closes?

Echoing everyone else and saying Hair. Or Finian's Rainbow.
Hair.
The best seats for Memphis are in another theater, seeing another show.
I haven't seen this version of Hair, but I recommend Memphis! Get the CD of Memphis and the CD of Hair and decide that way.
adamgreer, that joke wasn't even funny the first time..the level of hatred for this show here astounds me
but yeah have fun at HAIR
You can get your ticket refunds by going down to the box office. If the show has already closed by the time you get into the city, you can contact Ticketmaster or Telecharge if you bought it from them (forgot which one sells Ragtime).
See Hair. No doubt about that.
I'm all for HAIR, no question.
You won't miss out on any of the energy in the rear mezz, which you may get to move down from anyway.

I enjoyed Memphis much more than HAIR (Dont kill me over an oppinion)
Hair.
You know, in case you were still wondering which is generally preferred around here.

HAIR (even though I liked parts of Memphis) but HAIR was fantastic.
Hair & Memphis are two of my favorite shows! Whichever show you choose, you'll have a great time! You should probably listen to the cast recordings and decide based upon how much you like each of them. Have fun!

Hair! Memphis is good, but Hair is far superior.
HAIR all the way. The way the show is set up, it really does not matter where you sit. The action is all over the stage and the theatre and you can enjoy it from any seat. It's a great show and I would definitely see it over Memphis.
