I need to stop looking at all these pictures! I am SOOOOO excited for this movie!!! It's making me antsy! OOO this also reminds me that I want to see the first regional theatre production of Hairspray at North Shore Music Theatre! gah! 2006/2007 the year of HAIRSPRAY!!! North Shore...I get to see the downgraded tour (okay...not as excited) and the movie comes out. not to mention all the pictures and videos and interviews that will follow...okay I'll stop...I think a purse just fell out of my mouth...

I was refering to SPECIFIC movie boys.. but yes, I enjoy J-Weaf as well!!!!!!
My first discovery of Hairspray unfortunately happened after the show had left Toronto, so when I found out that they were filming here I decided that I would not let another opportunity pass me. So I dragged my best friend downtown with me for some shopping and snooping.
We started out at the Eatons Centre and then made the hour trek to the Dundas/Roesvalles location. We were beginning to wonder if we were ever going to make it when we started to see all of the old cars lining the streets with their Maryland liscense plates. By the time we reached the location filming had already stopped, but we spent a long time just walking up and down the street taking it all in, and snapping many photos (which I will be uploading shortly). I got a lot of close-ups of the store windows because I haven't seen any of those pictures posted yet. I've never seen anything like it before, the sets were gorgeous and I really felt like I was in a museum looking around. I just felt this great energy coming from all the sets, this is going to be one really exciting movie.
jesse? there is a character named jesse?
Hairspray at night. There will be more coming once my friend sends hers to me.
these are great!

wow, thanks for those pictures!
those really look AWESOME
:)
Bah...sorry guys. Didn't end up making it today. Life got in the way, which is a bummer...the weather was pretty nasty today though, being very bipolar on/off. That must have stalled production a bit.

In case anyone cares, someone on LJ visited the set and got a picture with Amanda Bynes in costume.

More plaid (and of the same color throughout).
Ignoring that, though, and what I would say, Amanda's upper does in fact look great! I'm having no problem picturing her delivering Penny's lines with aplomb. :) I love that word.

"aplomb" was just a vocab word of mine!
Yes, Mateo, I comment on Harvey's blog, but I never check it after that.
And the pics look great!
My friend just saw Jerry Stiller at the Saturday 9/9 mattinee of Hairspray. He stood up and took a bow before the show began. I guess he's doing some "research." This movie is going to be fantastic!
oh wow, thanks for the info mejusthavingfun.
I guess a lot of the movie actors have all recently seen the show. A while back soemone said they saw James Marsden coming out of the stage door.
Oh and yeh- for all those who dont know, Jerry Stiller will be playing Mr. Pinky in the new movie.
I love how research constitutes seeing a Broadway show.
I wish I could've used that excuse in High School.
hahahaha.
tell me about it.
