This is a post for those who think HAMILTON is the Emperor's New Clothes.
Two songs tops are worth anything.
The staging was non stop - and not in a good way.
Revolutionary? Um...no.

Wouldn't your post be redundant to people who think Hamilton is the Emperor's New Clothes?!

Skip2,
Thank you for your observant post, and for having the courage to speak out.
There are quite a few emperors with new clothes strutting across our theatrical landscape.
Pity the subjects subjected to them.

This really couldn't have gone in any of the other threads about the show??

"This really couldn't have gone in any of the other threads about the show??"
Such as the thread for Hamilton Fans /Obsessives?
Was such a question raised when that thread began?

After Eight, feel however you like. What about that post was "observant"? What about it was not shallow and dismissive?
And I think the " subjects" can do without your constant condescension and pity.
I actually wasn't crazy about Hamilton myself. If I ever feel the need to talk about it, I'll give actual reasons.

Any dismissal of Hamilton and Fun Home, no matter how generic and unsophisticated, is treated like high theater criticism by After Eight.

Great! You dislike something many people like a great deal. How special you are!

You can dislike a show without belittling and insulting those who like it. It's easy to say "I don't like this show for reasons X,Y, and Z" without insinuating that those who do are brainwashed or lacking intelligence.

Heed not the rabble who scream, "Revolutionary!"
They have not your interests at heart.
"If artists were machines, then I'm just a different kind of machine...I'd probably be a toaster. Actually, I'd be a toaster oven because they're more versatile. And I like making grilled cheese" -Regina Spektor
"That's, like, twelve shows! ...Or seven." -Crazy SA Fangirl
"They say that just being relaxed is the most important thing [in acting]. I take that to another level, I think kinda like yawning and...like being partially asleep onstage is also good, but whatever." - Sherie Rene Scott

Anyone who thinks Hamilton's staging was "not good" is fundamentally wrong.

Skip2, thank you for your bravery. I hope that one day Roland Emmerich makes a film about you so everyone is made aware of your struggle.

Wouldn't "I Hate #YAYHAMLET" have been a much cooler thread title? I should be a consultant for some of these posters..

I just assumed they also disliked Spamalot, and were just rehashing a massive chuckler they slayed with back then as a title?
