Planning on doing the cancellation line June 8th (Wednesday) I fly in just before midnight the night before from Australia and plan on heading straight there and I was wondering the chances for a single ticket for Wednesday day/night show?
Anyone done the line and going for a single ticket? Experiences? Advice? Wait time?
much appreciated:)

You should go back a couple of pages to steins posts and read that. Also someone posted about how you should try not to do Wednesday shows as well like less than 5 pages back as well.
I hope you are all having a GREAT NIGHT. I graduate this year and for graduation I want to get my parents to take me to the line and wait (I'm 13). My parents both work every day, so we can't get off for over a day. I originally planned to go on the Wednesday after I graduate so no-one else will be out of school. I want to get there around 11pm on Tuesday night and wait until the night show (only if I can't get matinee tickets.) I have $200 saved for cancellations. If I don't get in I don't know what else I can do. I was thinking of getting a Same Ole Line Dude but I'm not sure if that is fair to the other fans and pricing is a BIT ridiculous. I would wait for 2 days my parents just can't. My question is.. do you think I can make it without a line sitter, how early will i need to get there without one? Any tips would be REALLY appreciated. Thank you all very much in advance (sorry for my long comment) ps: id be ok with a single ticket if i have to
At your young age, I appreciate your determination to do this. $200 is enough for a cancellation ticket since they are $177.00 IF a premium seat isn't offered. Those are like $500. I think you might have a good chance at getting one ticket if you show up at 11pm and wait til the next day/evening. That's if one of your parents are willing to wait with you--you can't be out there alone. Your parents will get in trouble! and some not-so-desirable people can come up and down that street in the wee hours.
Don't worry about being fair to the line by hiring a sitter. It is what it is--you gotta get in however you can get in, some people use a line sitter and some people don't. Doesn't make anyone a bad person for using one, just puts those not using one in a handicap. Line sitting prices are online and if I'm not mistaken, it's roughly $20.00 an hour to get an approximate amount. Then you may want to tip them for them being out there so long as an extra thank you. For one ticket, it'll be expensive with a line sitter so you'd need to save more money.
In re: to TM premium seats I imagine either they have a chart, or just the resell button has been removed from the orders when you purchase those seats? Not exactly sure on how they know, but that's what I was told. Maybe if this had it's own thread others may read it and know something we don't...

This has NEVER been a rule ... it went from NO rule at all to the rule of if you start the line there is NO swapping out.
If you are planning on camping out overnight, what's the best set-up if you want to sleep a little? Have they barred small tents/cabanas, sleeping bags, pads, etc.? I'm assuming a small folding chair is fine but being horizontal is probably more comfortable.

You are the only person who has claimed this, and you have said it multiple times. Tell us how this could possibly be true before the box office opens. Otherwise you're just running your mouth.

All I know is that this is what I was told. It was a few days after the Marriott got angry about people waiting overnight/trashing up their alley. Maybe the "no swapping" rule had already been put out there to people in the know but no one fathomed how it would be enforced, so they advised me to just be in place before the box office opened... since that really is the only thing that makes sense and seems enforceable.

Another person here recommended these (MyFavoriteBrunette, I think!) and we took 'em up on it when we waited. Easy to assemble and take apart, super light weight and I was able to fit two of them inside a standard backpack, no problem. Best investment ever.
Are the EduHam shows only open to students or do they sell tickets to the public? Thanks for all your tips I am probably going to be attempting the cancellation line in a few weeks

Only students... and I think they select which high school students go. It also depends if they get that grant money again from the Rockefeller foundation.
Yes! That's my husbands chair that I asked to borrow. I figured since I'd be on line alone, I needed a comfortable chair that I could pack in a shoulder tote bag that would be allowed inside the theater. I took many naps in that chair waiting for two tickets that never surfaced =(
If anyone is bringing a camping chair, this is the one. The larger ones won't be allowed inside and won't be checked in for you. There is current construction across the street and there may be a dumpster if you want to throw away whatever you bring to the line.
Is the single ticket cancellation line on weekends seriously over 24 hours of waiting now? If i want to try on a Saturday with two showtimes, when is the best time to get in line? Visiting NY next month.
I think this part of the lyrics reflect well of my last line-waiting experience :)
[HAMILTON] And I wanted what I got When you got skin in the game, you stay in the game But you don’t get a win unless you play in the game Oh, you get love for it. You get hate for it You get nothing if you…
[HAMILTON AND COMPANY] Wait for it, wait for it, wait!
Right... this time I will arrive 12hs before my planned wait start. So I should be able to repack my backpack for line-wait. Last time I arrived directly from the airport really no room for `luxury` like a chair :P
When you're in line, a box office employee comes out and offers everyone a premium ticket. Think fast. If no-one purchases it, it's released back online (TM). According to the employee, if premium tickets are unsold, they will sell them at regular price ($177/Orchestra) by the end of the night. Seats depend on availability/no seating chart. I ended up on the same row with people who purchased the premium tickets (while in line).

I just used the theater steps/standing. Some people in line had these (tripod stool) and blankets.

You can do it, just depends on numerous factors (weather, demand, availability of tickets, etc).
It seems that Wednesday and Saturday are "hot" days for line-sitters (2 shows).

After much thought and planning my sister and I went into this with an open mind as to what we would do yesterday day. We got to NYC in time to do the live lottery. Several people around us won but we were not successful. So we walked back to our hotel to grab some lunch and talk about our next move (at about 1:15 pm) we started looking at stubhub tickets and the price dropped to $350 each for center orchestra row q. We brought them as soon as we saw them. Then rushed to print them and get read for the show. Practically ran 10 blocks to the theater all the while praying the tickets were real. We got to our seats right at 2pm. The seats were amazing the show was amazing. It was an amazing afternoon. . Everything worked out perfectly.
