Everyone in the other time zones will have fun, though!

We know how to pause a show on our DVRs and be caught up again by the first commercial break?
WHY should I be angry? I'll be able to both get tickets AND see the Tonys. I think its a reason to rejoice.

I, too, am kind of perplexed by the outrage some are expressing here. Do you not know how to pause your DVR? Or, if you're not fortunate enough to have one, do you not know how to use your phone or tablet to buy tickets while watching a live broadcast? I just don't understand what the issue is.

Regarding the AMEX Centurion/Platinum presale, card holders were emailed this afternoon a 14 digit unique code that allows them to purchase 4 tickets.
Usually these presales are handled with simply using the customer service number as the code. They seem to be taking real steps to assure only cardholders get the tickets.
Interesting.

Seems there should be enough to go around when the general onsale arrives Sunday

Any idea when that email was sent? My mother has a platinum and will let me purchase using her card, but she has no idea about an email.... Any info would be helpful so she can locate it for me!

3:30 this afternoon.
I imagine they may be staggered across the afternoon/evening.

Would you paste the text of it without the unique code? We called Amex and they are saying no unique code!?!?!

Called Amex and they hadn't generated a code, but got one generated.
It is good for one purchase of up to 4 tickets total. So you couldn't split 2 and 2 for two separate dates -- would need to buy whatever you want for one date.

Happy you were able to resolve the situation.
You are correct, the 4 ticket limit is good for one purchase, as you cannot split 2 and 2 for two different dates.

When I bought tickets for 2 weeks from now, I bought them on my phone in the restroom while at work and it took like 7 minutes.

Were you also using the restroom at the time?
I'm obviously doing something wrong!
I think it's going to be nuts. My friend just spent an hour on the phone with Amex getting his code. Amex told him that Saturday nights will be impossible. Good luck everyone, and thanks for the info about the code. Confusion over that may keep ticket sales lower.
Looks like they've changed the time for the general sale, it's saying 11:10 pm now.
Well, this is just silly, now.
LOL now it's during the Tonys for everyone except EST. have fun, other time zones.
Yeah, now the tickets are going on sale after Hamilton wins Best Musical. As if tickets weren't already hard to get!

I doubt that people that are unaware that Hamilton is going to win best musical are somehow aware of when the next lot of tickets go on sale.

Are there that may fence sitters, holding off until it wins the Tony, though?
Is there an confirmation of the time change other than tcawam?
I do find it interesting the innumerable passes people will give this show. If it were any other show besides this one, people would be screaming out about the greed and foul play of their selling. But because we're "so lucky to be alive right now" in the age of Hamilton, anything goes.
I posted earlier that I was not happy with this turn of events. But yes, I still plan to buy tickets!
