Honestly the dramatics are ridiculous. The grosses went down 0.4% from what was always going to be a huge week with the three leads leaving. It still made over $2 million and was only behind The Lion King. The cancellation line was getting too much and it's a great thing that people aren't staying in that for days on end anymore, if it hadn't have reduced then they would have had to get rid of it anyway. Every show is effected when its original leads leave, but Hamilton has absolutely no worries about maintaining its success considering it is sold out for almost a year in advance. If the show wasn't the star, then it wouldn't have sold so well in Chicago.
Yes, it seems that the Hamilton hype (at least for the Broadway production) has had its peak at the time of the Tonys and the last few weeks of the OBC. After 18 months, it was about time. Of course, once something has peaked there is nowhere to go but down, but there is nothing to suggest that Hamilton's hype is dramatically or rapidly decreasing.
