Happy Trails, Girl From the North Country

Man, I loved this show. I'm glad it came back (and came back again). I didn't think I'd be as moved as I was, but it had a profound impact on me for days and days after seeing it. I still think about the characters and the story. It was just so rich. And I've never heard vocal arrangements like that. SO glad it was captured and I'll be able to watch it again soon.

Absolutely agreed. The piece is exquisite and Broadway will never know the likes of it again.

Those who caught it have been blessed. I’ll never forget it.

To everyone involved, thank you so much.

I went in expecting to hate and and really liked it. Doesn’t seem like it would work for me but it just did. Went again 6 months later excited to get a chance to just enjoy it without having to come to terms with not hating it, and it blew me away again with how much I really loved it. It’s sad more people won’t have the chance to be surprised by this special show, but I’m glad I did get the chance to see it!

I saw this as a replacement show for MJ when it was canceled in early previews. I had next to no interest in it since so many people said it was SO boring, but I was blown away. One of my favorite theatrical experiences of all time.

Isn't this touring next season?

A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

Happy Trails, Girl From the North Country

One of those rare shows where the emotional impact can’t be fully explained, the synergy of character, storytelling, and music hard to define. Its mystery became the appeal to me. My fourth visit this week left me feeling that this was the perfect piece for this challenging year: somehow the survival instincts in the people depicted matched that of the industry and audience. The last two numbers, addressing loss and grief and ultimate resilience just pulled us up out of our seats in gratitude. A great contribution to the form, performed by a beauty of a company.

Very sad to see this one close, especially with this remarkable cast. Every actor was pitch perfect. Was hoping it would last the summer and I could see it again.

As others have said, a difficult show to summarize but one that reached down into my soul and moved me deeply. I am grateful I got to see it. Kudos to all involved.
