I am writing a book on Broadway groupies/fans and would love to find out if anyone has seen a Broadway musical over 100 times? I am also interested in seeing if there are any Broadway plays that have fans that see multiple performances?

Wasn't there that barista that saw Spidey a couple hundred times?
Here comes the judgment train!
I've seen Matilda 20x! And a bunch others multiples. Heathers x7, Rocky x5, Hedwig x7, Last Ship x5
Most likely. Shows like RENT and Phantom of the Opera attract crazed fanatics that have no problem seeing their favorite show every couple times a week. Priorities....

Quite a long thread on this from 2013 based on this article. Mostly negative comments...

I met a girl once while in line for Hedwig standing room that had seen Book of Mormon about 90 times, from OBC to the West End and back again. Wish I knew her name.
It is amazing people still wonder why producers Jack up prices when they see stories like this. People are so hooked they will pay anything to see a show a million times.
Seeing B O M was one time to many.Nice to have access to unlimited funds.
I believe Dollypop saw Hello, Dolly! somewhere around 75 times. Lucky him.
There's a lot of us ROCKY HORROR fans from the 2000 revival who are almost at that number.
Why do you have to give me Pennywise nightmares, Jordan?
As much as I love musical theatre, I cannot fathom seeing the same show multiple times. ESPECIALLY if it's the same production. I can understand that if (for instance) you saw the OBP of A Little Night Music and then wanted to see the revival X amount of years later. That makes sense. But I see no point in doing so on a bigger scale than that. To me, a lot of the magic is lost. The only time I did it was for Cinderella on Broadway because I wanted to support my friend who joined the cast...
By the by, is anyone familiar with the traveling CATS superfan?

Wasn't there a ONCE super fan too?
I have revisited a few shows several times but it was over the course of many years that the show(s) ran. Was a repeat offender for many reasons: was brought the first time when I was young, revisited show when I was older, took a date/family, cheap price off-season (winter), took friend/business associate in town, new actor/actress in a role, right before show closed, etc but to go many times in a month...nope.
I once saw a story on local news where a guy saw Rock Of Ages over 500 times

ive seen many shows multiple times, including My Fair Lady, A little night music, Aida, Phantom, How to Succeed, Kinky Boots, Book of Mormon, Les Miserables, and a few others
why go multiple times?
1) different casts and interpretation
2) I really love a show and there arent that many truly great musicals(about 50-60 IMO)
3) Aida was the first musical i saw again because was so stunned by Heather Headleys performance I had to go back
4) I live in San Francisco, and there are only so many professional productions playing, so if a great national tour is here, I may go more than once
5) you start to look for, and look at different things, especially when you see the same production
I met a woman who said she has seen Wicked over 100 times, and a renthead who saw rent over 100 times, and a guy who saw les mis 65 times and wrote his college thesis on it
You may want to consider setting the bar a little lower for your book.
I mean, if someone has seen the same show 50 times, doesnt that make them a raving fan too?
If I lived in new york, I would still go to the sames shows I liked multiple times (and see a lot more plays, which i love but will not see when in NY because I love musicals more), especially if you can get great discount tix.....

Wow, you didn't like Mormon, Roxy? A little surprised you've never mentioned that before.
I was actually close to seeing Bronx Bombers 100 times last year, but the brevity of the show's run and the fact that I never went to see it left me only 100 shows short.

Amy (cannot remember last name) works for Lane Bryant. Saw Once over 100 times
When you ask this question, you should say LIVE at the theatre.. cause people can just add numbers by the times they saw a bootleg online.
My top 3 of most times are:
Wicked 10x
The Book of Mormon 8x
The Lion King 8x
What about that insane lady who always had to have "her seat" for every NEXT TO NORMAL performance?
Pippin 6x
Matilda 2x
Curious Incident 2x
Mamma Mia 3x
Hedwig 2x
Ave Q 3x
In The Heights 4x
Billy Elliot 3x
Hair 2x
