Hayley Mills to Lead THE BEST EXOTIC MARIGOLD HOTEL Stage Production

Hayley Mills, best known for her memorable performances in the Disney films The Parent Trap and Pollyanna, has signed on to lead the upcoming stage adaptation of the acclaimed film The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel.

According to Deadline, Mills has joined the cast in the role of widow Evelyn Greenslove, a part originated by Dame Judi Dench in the film. Mills will lead the production on tour throughout the UK before moving on to a sit-down production on London's West End.

I loved her in that horrible off Broadway show she did a couple years ago. When she made her entrance the audience literally “gasp” and screamed “she never ages”  Timeless indeed

This is happy news.  She and I are but a few months apart in age.  People tend to remember her as a child or young person, when in fact she has had a very successful career as an adult actor.  No small reason, perhaps, why she titled her 2021 memoir "Forever Young".

I mean, has anyone ever said a bad word about Hayley Mills? If there's a list of "most beloved humans", she's got to be right up there, right?

She looked lovely but even the waltz was a little awkward. Very strange casting and even from reports she even knew how wrong she was for the part. BWW in it's heading today referred to it as a 'musical adaption'. God I hope not. I searched through the article and found no other references to music so think that was perhaps a typo.

And yes that was a very bad casting error but she can still be 'a most beloved human' .You either know a person or you read about them to access your opinion.

I wish both sisters Hayley and Juliet were appearing in this production.  Only a dream, I know.  Reportedly, they remain lifelong best friends.  That makes me happy.
