"Holler If Ya Hear Me"

Posted: 5/30/14 at 11:30pmRight before Kinky Boots started previews, Cindi Lauper released one of the songs (just her vocals and a keyboard) from the show and it sounded HORRIBLE!!! I was about to write off the show completely. I kept an opened mind, and it was and still is one of my favorite shows. I am keeping an open mind on this. I am far from their target audience I don't think I have ever heard one of Tupac's raps (songs). I liked what I heard. If they can pull off a touching story to boot, more power to them.

I know. The poster before me jumped in before I posted Glory Days. I was just saying that Glory Days was a disaster and tremendous failure.

"Or are these comments about it's failure merely speculation at this point? "
The comments are based on the lack of buzz for the show, and the wide-open availability of tickets. It really looks like this is going to be a disaster (financially).

Posted: 5/31/14 at 8:54amThe opening preview is already papering? ... This is a disaster of epic proportions waiting to happen.

Posted: 5/31/14 at 9:44amI can't recall the last time a show was opening and I had zero idea what it was about or anything. You'd have to really love Tupac to buy tickets blind to this, and it's not even his story, so what it is is still unknown, literally until its first preview.

Posted: 5/31/14 at 11:48amI know nothing about Tupac, I just have seen everything else, had no plans on Monday and caught a ticket from the site not to be named. Plus I want to see what they did to the Palace with the stadium seating.

Posted: 5/31/14 at 11:50amWho knows, maybe it'll be a good show with a terrible marketing team.

Well at least it's not Lin Manuel's hackneyed "rap" for two hours.
Lin Manuel's work sounded far superior. I never understood what it was you wanted him to write for you.

Posted: 5/31/14 at 2:50pmYep, I'll be there Monday too. My ticket was comped so if it's bad, no problem.

Posted: 5/31/14 at 2:52pmI'm going on Monday also. They can barely give these tickets away!

Posted: 5/31/14 at 2:58pmThe rear mezz and balcony are now "sold out," so it looks like we'll be sitting there.

Posted: 5/31/14 at 3:03pmThe balcony of the Palace. My least favorite place on earth. I'm guessing there will be availability to move down.
