I'm dying over how accurate this is.
I'm not sure there's money in it, but it would be nice to have another caricaturist in the mix. Does anyone know of someone in the fan art community who covers a lot of the shows and not just Hamilton?
Good lord, what did he do to Katrina Lenk?

Besides Squigs, who is terrific..
there's Matt Hirshfeld
Glen Hanson

...is Fallin just editing his drawings in MS Paint?

MY BWW avatar is Ken Fallin's Bette as Dolly. I love it. But I hate Bernadette's and most of his other caricatures. As soon as the show closes on Broadway, and I think it will sooner rather than later, I'm going back to my previous Lucy photo. I'll keep Bette now for luck.

Forget Microsoft Paint, this looks like he sketched for two minutes, took a screenshot of beach balls from Google, and put them together on Microsoft Word.

I was going to say the same thing! This looks like an ironic meme instead of a caricature, oh man.

It's really telling that it makes it look like his universe's version of Katrina Lenk is in MARGARITAVILLE.

This is earth-shattering: art is subjective. Who knew? btw can anyone give us an example of "not wanting to like something" but wound up liking it anyway?

I feel bad for anyone working in the shadow of Al Hirschfeld, but Fallin's work is pretty stiff outside of his simple one-person works. Once you move beyond the face, you don't find any of the wry fluidity and visual rhythm that made Hirschfeld's work so vibrant - there's no sense of an opinionated whole or subjective observation. What's funny is he's clearly capable of doing quite adequate work, but then he goes and throws up something so clumsy and juvenile that it's kind of shocking - I'd expect the Hello Dolly piece from a middle-schooler still getting the hang of drawing fingers, not a professional who's done decades of art.

Drawing an actual scene or splash page would be so much more effective. But Fallin genuinely does not seem to want to capture a sense of movement or action.

Just have Squigs do these instead

That exhibit is wonderful and it was so nice to see those Hirshfield's up close and in person.

Squigs is exceptional. Here are a few of his pieces compared to those on this thread already, just to show the stark contrast.
