Tiff- I assume you're referring to another Idina fan- I think ive heard a story bout that. But yeah, in my eagerness I called the Gershwin... the man said Idina fell, hurt her ribs, is scheduled to be there tomorrow and that he officially can't say that she's not - but it seemed that he was hinting that he doubted it.

Capn, I'm very busy and important, and I value my IQ too much to have it lowered with the risk of wicked4life come back, so forgive me for skimming the post and missing yours.

Is there a deadline for when you can return tickets? (I thought you weren't allowed to return tickets to begin with!) I wouldn't be surprised if the Gershwin waits until the last minute to announce if Idina's on or not. A sort of neener-neener to the people who would otherwise return their tickets.

(Did I just say neener-neener? Uh-oh! IQ juice slowly draining away....)

..I talked to a reletive of mine whos in the show..they said that as of the moment..they arent sure if tehy want idina in tomorrows performance due to her health..however she is very persistant in getting them to allow her..so they are going to play it by ear.. dno if that helps anyone or makes it more unsettled...but at least shes trying.

My prediction is if it really that bad then Shoshana will have to go on for DefyingGravity. But how did they get Shoshana in green so quickly? Anyone know?

Have I missed the bickering? I thought I was just being sarcastic.

"busy and important" HAHA, no offense, but I LOVE THAT COMMENT!

"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. To clear things up, as I was in the audience. Forgive me if I'm repeating things, as I only have read the first page of this thread.

During the wicked witch death scene, Idina Menzel was injured. Apparently she either tripped or fell or had some mishap with the trapdoor that she goes down as Elphaba melts. The audience could only see what went on as a silhouette through the small curtain they use for the melting scene.

As Jennifer stood downstage, everything seemed normal until you saw Idina fall and a stagehand run onstage (behind that curtain) to help her. The music stopped and you could hear Idina crying out, while someone was saying "Blood blood, is there blood" and "Call 911, hurry up"....Jennifer started crying and walked offstage. The house lights came up, and the main curtain was lowered.

An annoucnement was made asking for any doctors in the house to report to the sound booth, and that they would try to resume the show ASAP. After two more announcements and 40 minutes later, Shoshana went on as Elphaba for the final scene. The whole cast was visibly shaken, and Joey Mac made an announcement to the audience saying that Idina would pull through and that he thanked everyone for their understanding. She was not present at the curtain call. Idina is out tonight and presumably tomorrow. The word from a doctor there was that she may have broken a few ribs, or at least "will have a serious bruise"...

It didn't happen during "For Good", and she was NOT present for the curtain call.

bronte604, yeah she is going on to film Rent in SF (most of the cast has been practicing already, and they start filming in a few weeks). Really cute story, too!

How about everybody hushes up for now? We already determined by reading the article who was correct, and who was pulling rumors out of their ass. There's nothing to be done but just wait and see how she is, and if she'll be able to go on tomorrow. Stop the damn bickering.

HAHAHAHAHAHA. This is the greatest news. Not that Idina is hurt of course... I feel bad for her. But the thought of her thousands of mentally INSANEEEEEE fans who are going tonight and tomorrow and might not get the chance to see her... LOLLL. I knew something like this was going to happen, especially after last week, how the call board at Wicked said "Shoshana Bean's first performance- Jan 9." Everyone said it was a typo and it was changed... haha oh irony.

Jade, that was either a delayed double post, or it's redundant, because there has been no bickering for the last few pages (hence the reason this thread is decidedly less fun now).

I don't find it to be particularly funny - what if you were a huge fan of (insert any actor/actress) and were getting the chance to see their last performance, I'm sure you would agree that it would be a very big deal. It's really just childish and juvenile to make a comment like that - some people were really looking forward to her last night. Updated On: 1/8/05 at 07:31 PM

I just can't imagine what the fans who paid >$1000 for tickets from scalpers are doing right now. Getting drunk or being fitted for a straight jacket, I bet.

BalletGirl - there was no reason to make that statement. Whether you were joking or serious, it doesn't matter. To say that either way is evil.

What I mean is that it's been officially announced what actually happened, so the several comments that keep coming up on people's takes on what happened are unessecary. All anyone can do is wait to hear how she's doing.
