I actually did read the entire thread - and have been following it from the beginning, I apologize that I missed it. I am amused however that it is such a big deal that I re-asked a question, because I swear that NEVER happens around here. I guess I was so caught up in the "I'm right and you're wrong" (b/c I swear the box office would really know what the hospital said.... )business that I just passed it by. Forgive me ....

edit: upon reading the broadway.com article I would like to re-ask that people post info if it is up on any other sites - broadway.com didn't have much info - I was looking for an actual diagnosis and info about tomorrow - sorry I didn't specify earlier Updated On: 1/8/05 at 08:01 PM

Yah, but singing with hurt ribs can't be good...with or without a harness. She may just push through it, but I would think that the pain of trying to belt all those songs with a broken or brusied or hurt rib is just as much of a problem as going up in a harness.

I just hope she is ok, though, cause no matter what happens or how it turns out it has gotta be depressing for her...to end like this. Sigh. *prayers*

haha, priest...

umm, what, have shoshana do the flying and have idina sing? i doubt it...if her ribs are injured, she won't be able to sing...

if i were shoshana i would be scared that i would fall for the night performance as well. I feel bad for those fans because they didn't even know what was going on. Shoshana will obviously not be excited to perform.

They won't do that. If Idina goes on tomorrow, she will do the role on her own, or not at all. If she does go on, she may have to take it easy and not fly (if the producers will allow this).

"Maybe Idina Could be Nessa tomorrow"

Oh. My. God. What a cute thing to say! ::rolls eyes::

Maybe it was superstitious. Everyone was thinking about Idina's last day Day in and Day out. I mean it as been posted on the board for how long.....

There have been more useless posts on this thread than the one that shesings posted. It wouldn't kill any newbies just starting to read this to be directed to the most "official" word we'll be getting for now:

I think Shoshana will be fine with the trap door. How many performances have they done? The odds of that happening again are slim, especially since they'll probably be more careful now. I doubt that is Shoshana's main concern. Perhaps Idina's well-being is ....

Nicely put, shesings.

Shesings, I don't think there's been any comment on the diagnosis or what's going to happen tomorrow. You could check Playbill though to see if there's other articles. If she has to do x-rays, etc., that would take several hours, not to mention the line-ups at the hospital (and funny looks a green girl would be getting in the waiting room). Plus, I doubt Gershwin will confirm if she'll be performing tomorrow until tomorrow, perhaps at the 11th hour.

She is going to be fine, according to Broadway.com
And fine does not necessarily mean performing tomorrow.
There are more important things, people?

I seriously doubt the loyalty of a fan of hers is they post something like "Wow! Will she go one tomorrow? I hope she's alright"

A true fan would think about nothing but her safety without worrying about whether they are going to ge tto see her fot the umpteenth and final time.

And does anyone else find all of this terribly and astonishingly ironic?

I do. I am worried about Idina. I really hope she is OK. The audience, Cast, and crew members must have been worried. Something I don't get though when se is melting shouldn't she check to see if there is a big hole or not? Does se get lowered down when she melts? Is that how it works?

p.s I agree with the money issue, that is awful. The 2 things I thought, personally, was that I hoped it was serious and what a tragedy it would be for Idina not to have that last performance. When I saw the show last night she was clearly giving all she had since and her heart was truly in it. The crowd was great too so I assume she was feeding off of that in her performance.

Money is just money, we're talking about someone getting injured while giving US the opportunity to see an amazing performance/show.

Let's try to keep our eye on what's really important here people

i don't see why i true fan can't say, is she going on tomorrow - as long as it's like...i hope she is well enough to go on - and it's a fluke thing....

but i doubt it is, so i hope she feels better..i am upset that, as i said before, she had to go out this way after 3 yrs...

I agree Bronte. It is only money and Idina will be ok. Maybe it was for the better (No pun intended with Wicked) you never know. Crazy things happen like that.

Priest, you're talking about the same Wicklynites who complained about Idina not coming out of the stage door days after the death threats went public. "Her life is at risk." "SOOO???? I WANNA HER AUTOGRAPH!!!!!!"

If she doesn't go on tomorrow maybe she will make a day to go on to make a real last day. That would be cool.

i'm sure if she finished today, than she finished - look at what happened to joel grey....

they may pull a Producers and have KC and idina come back for a limited time (i doubt it) but i don't think idina will do one more show - there's a contract...
