Does anyone have any inkling whether Idina will be out for tomorrow's matinee? I enjoyed her performance they first time I saw it, but I'd love to catch Jackie if I can.
I would think that Idina would be back earliest tomorrow night, even if she is feeling better, to not have to do a two show day right out of a bad cold, but who really knows.
You're right, there's no telling, but that makes sense. Thank you wdwfreak!
Jackie Burns sounds AMAZING.
She really sounds great in this role! I love Idina, but I would love to see Jackie too!
Looks like she's out again today (and presumably tonight). Going on day 3 here, really hope everything is okay with her.
Finally listened to clip of Jackie singing "Learn to Live Without" and really loved it. Her voice is a lot softer (which appeals to me and what I like to listen to more). I just tried to see if she had a Twitter handle and typer her in the search part and was really happy to see all of the support she is getting from people seeing this show!
Though three days might seem like a while, I'm not sure it's something to be too concerned about yet. She's been on an insane schedule since the show began & the role is incredibly demanding; she hardly ever leaves the stage. I remember in Wicked she got sick relatively early on & came back before she seemed 100% & for the ret of the run her voice was never quite the same. Better to take the time off to recover than do any damage by prematurely coming back.
Someone tweeted that they are at the show and that they get to go back and see it for free.
Someone else posted the same thing on instagram.
So, they're seeing the show...AND they get to go again for free? O.o

If that is something they are allowing, one imagines not posting about it would be in their best interest (and probably something they were told not to do). Otherwise, who wouldn't pay once to see it twice?
I just wonder how they will make that happen, will they put them in the same seats? Better ones? Do they give them tons of options on dates? That sounds so bizarre.
Also, if that's the case, I'm feeling really bummed right now that I didn't buy a ticket to see Jackie yesterday so I could see her AND catch Idina for free another day! I don't understand how the arrangement would benefit the producers in anyway.

Why in God's green earth would anyone want to sit through this POS twice?
^ Some people obviously don't have the same opinion as you do.
I know I plan to see it again. Loved ot.
Apparently there were technical difficulties and they had to stop the show during the first act. Maybe that has something to do with this bizarre two for one thing?

Why in God's green earth would anyone want to keep reading and posting in threads about a show they hate?

LOL, because I have nothing better to do today. I just wish I had a chair to watch the return line on the days she was out. I have a feeling it was more fun to watch than anything in the show.
You sound like a fun person.

People would just assume you were the front of the rush line for her first show back.

... You don't have a chair? Geez, how'd you ever manage affording a ticket the first time around?
Offering them to go back again will be good for word of mouth. Particularly because I think they would enjoy it a lot the second time (1. The excitement of Idina being back on, 2. Listening to the score for a second time - I don't think it's easy to like the first time you hear it). I'm not sure if this was caused by the act 1 difficulties because people here were saying it happened yesterday too.

Lottery loser seats, the worst $50 I ever spent. Great seat, great talent, HORRIBLE SHOW.
So this is the 4th post you've made about this, we get it.
I know you mentioned you thought you had great seats but I do have a theory that people are not enjoying the show as much from those seats vs good orchestra seats. The show would be more confusing from far away and (most importantly), because the show doesn't exactly have extreme scenery chewing emotional moments it might seem more boring. They've built this show to be a 'big' show. But a smaller theatre would have been more ideal I think for the viewer experience.
