I like Rosario and I think she will be great in the movie, but her voice isn't as interesting to listen to as Daph's.
I wonder what the OBC's not in the movie think of all this.
I'd love to hear their thoughts!!
PS - Any date announced for Anthony's book?
So what happened to Adam's vibrato?
There is none....and that makes me upset.
Oh and is it just me or does Idina's moo so more like an nasally duck (QUAAAAACK)????
I wonder if the pressed the same amount of covers for all? You would think that the Mark, Roger, Collins Mimi and Maureen covers would sell the best.
Hmmm.
MrMarkCharlieBrownCohen, Amazon.com has the listing for Anthony's book. The publish date was Febuary 7th, 2007. Someone asked this yesterday.
The only people that are selective about the character covers are the ones that are already very familiar with the story and have a favorite character (or actor as the case maybe). If someone picks it up because they saw Rent back in the day and like the music, they're not going to care as much about how they get. If I had a choice in who I got, I really wouldn't care. I wouldn't be buying it specifically for IDINA!!, but because it was the RENT soundtrack.
So what are we all thinking regarding Love Heals?
At first I was like,"Umm, ok", but it's really starting to grow on me. I mean, it doesn't reflect the rest of the soundtrack style-wise, but I think thats why I like it, it's different. Plus, it really showcases Tracie's voice....she's pretty awesome. In general, I really like it.
Thoughts anyone?

I bit... and I got it. I told myself I wasn't going to get it on the first day. Wait a little while. That worked for all of about 12 hours. Plus it was on sale. I love a cd that goes on sale the day it is released. I got Maureen. I was sooo torn between Idina and Adam. I got Idina mostly because I hate Adam with his long hair. I feel very unfaithful to Adam though. I seriously considered getting both.
I have only listened to RENT (the song). It's so different. More rockish. But it felt wierd to have them skip all the dialogue stuff. It will just take some getting used to.
EDIT: Now listening to LMC and I'm LOVING Rosario's voice. Yes, different. But I love it so far.
I like love heals after listening to it a few times. At first I was not overwhelmed, but it has grown on me, as has Over the Moon.
Tracie sounds wonderful all the way through the Soundtrack.
Exactly how I felt about Love Heals YouWantitWhen, but Over The Moon? Ehhh...I guess I'm not used to it yet...hmmm.
OTM - I have a feeling it is even more of a performance piece in the movie, which would explain why the vocals are a bit less challenging range wise than on the OBCR. It seems a bit slower than the OBCR.
So, like I said, it is growing on me. Still prefer the OBCR to the Soundtrack for this song, but I saw the show before I heard the OBCR, so I had some context. I have a feeling once I see the movie the more subdued version will seem great.

LOVE HEALS IS NOT ELLIGABLE FOR AN OSCAR NOMINATION, ONLY SONG THAT ARE WRITTEN DIRECTLY FOR A MOVIE ARE. LOVE HEALS WAS ALREADY WRITTEN PRIOR TO THE FILM.
of the original cast Jesse L. Martin DEFINATELY sounds the best...
his I'll Cover You Reprise had me in tears immediately, and he's just perfect there!
I'm bothered by Out Tonight, just because Rosario's voice is sooo sooo turned down compared to the guitar...
and does anybody know why they took Without You down a key? Is it because Rosario couldn't cut it?
But the person who really surprised me was Tracie... she is just incredible!
Initially I didnt like the reworking of One Song Glory. Adam sounded fine, but the background instrumentals threw me off. I thought it sounded more like an 80s song then a 90's sounding song. But of course its growing on me.

Okay, so I haven't listened to the whole thing yet but so far I'm thoroughly (sp?) enjoying it! I do have to say that Adam sounds different on a lot of the songs...I mean not on all of them and he doesn't really sound bad; just different. Does his voice sounds sorta weak to anyone else? Okay, well, I don't want to criticise. So far I'm loving the soundtrack!!!
i am really enjoy the new arangements. different but not necessarilly better/ as for love heals, at first i was unsure but now i have it on repeat!
due to the hurricannes here in LA none of my local outlets got the CD. guess i'm waiting til amazon delivers in a day or two!
I am so in love with the soundtrack. If I didn't like the music, it would have ruined the whole movie for me. But I'm loving every bit of it, every change, every new orchestration, every voice. Sooo good.
Naturally, I got the Mark cover, haha.

How much was the soundtrack at Virgin? I ended up going to Boarders because it's on my way to school, and they had exactly one copy of each of the 8 covers, and I picked Adam =)
I'm at the end of Disk 1, and i'm loving everything so far!!
I love it so far. I was worried about Glory..but i think Adam did a great job..I also adore Love Heals. I think the music and their voices are beautiful in it. I was discussing Halloween with a friend..and we've decided it may be even better than the obc. Anthony did a fantastic job. so..my thoughts thus far are summed up with a: YAY!
Someone asked about Anthony's book -- the current(ish) version of his bio says it's due out in February. Or, at least that's what the Feeling Eletric playbill thingy said.
I really this this version of Halloween is better than the OBC. And I actually think Anthony sounds better on the movie soundtrack than on the OBC.
That could just be me though...

I haven't been able to find it yet.
I stopped at Barnes and Noble and Walmart a few minutes ago to try and pick it up (they're the only things really close to me) and they didn't have any in. But, I work right next to a Best Buy, so hopefully they'll have some in when I head over there tonight.
You can go to Best Buy's website and see if stores near you have it. My local one does not
