Linda Lavin is Hattie. And she is completely wrong for Carlotta. So unfortunately I doubt it is Follies.

I think Angela could have been an amazing Phyllis, Carlotta, Sally, or Stella back in the day.

Lansbury said somewhere that she was originally approached for Phyllis (and Desiree in ALNM).

The only thing that Lansbury could do now is the woman that they push on in the wheelchair who does the operetta pastiche.
Back in the day, I think she would have only considered Phyllis or Sally. She had already been top billed in Mame and Carlotta is really a supporting role.

I would be so happy if she played Mother Superior in Sister Act.

That is surely one of the most annoying roles that never was, Angela Lansbury as Desiree?

How about a sequel to Mame? Where the character is 85 years old.

Lucile Ball tried playing Mame as 85 in the movie, but it didn't work so well.
Maybe Ang is going to do the musical version of "Stone Pillow".

She's going to be playing Leslie in a transfer of "Leslie Kritzer Is Patti LuPone at Les Mouches." I know this for a fact because my cousin's friend does Fran Weissler's best friend's hair, and she heard that the Weissler's are producing it. Michael Riedel is directing under the supervision of Hal Prince. And Andrew Lloyd Webber is re-orchestrating so that she WILL do "Don't Cry For Me Argentina: Disco."

I heard she's playing Ben Franklin in the all-female revival of 1776 Roundabout wants to do.
When I see the phrase "the ____ estate", I imagine a vast mansion in the country full of monocled men and high-collared women receiving letters about productions across the country and doing spit-takes at whatever they contain.

This thread is so stupid. She's already said she's going to be the next Phantom.

An Equity deputy I know saw her going into 890 Broadway carrying "Selections from The Lion King." Her Hakuna Matata is going to bring the over-60 crowd back to Broadway.
