Is Ms Lupone stage door friendly?

She signs only for the people who are right next to the barricade. When you walk out of the theatre it's to the left, not the right. So run to get a good spot. The audience from the mezzanine and the balcony come out the same exit, so it's really crowded and you will probably miss a lot of actors. Patti will come out after the audience has cleared. She will probably not take pictures, unless there are very few people waiting for her, which is unlikely. Her signatures last night were so cheap, she just wrote a P and a straight line. At Sweeney Todd, she always signed her actual autograph, so it was a little upsetting.

when I saw the show she stayed and signed for everyone waiting. she was very nice. If people wanted pics she took those also. Good Luck.

From what I gather reading things on here and talking with people, the interaction right now may depend on the weather. It's been extremely cold and windy lately here (including last night), so she may have been wanting/needing to get into someplace warm.

it usually depends on the day if she'll take pictures. if it's really crowded and/or cold/raining/other unpleasant weather she probably won't. have your camera ready anyway, because her usual response to a picture request is "if it's quick." the two times I've stage doored for her, she's been very nice, just rushed. she probably won't stay and chat but she's pretty sweet.

Since when did the cast of LAW & ORDER: Fierce Intent start leaving a 'stage door'?
I'm confused.
I don't watch that show so I have no idea who this woman is.
Sorry.

She is friendly, except when she is hungry. On those occasions, which are rare, she has been known to eat the very young.

and with that mouth, she can swallow them whole.

clevername--is your 17-year-old who idolizes Ms. LuPone male or female?
It the answer is male, you may need to prepare yourself.

Absolutely friendly. I waited for a really long time for her after the last night at City Center. She signed my playbill, took a picture with me, and took a picture with my mom. She was great!

She is exactly how one would expect Patti to be...if that makes any sense. I stage doored at Sweeney, and there was a fairly large crowd that night. She signed about 6 Playbills/posters proclaiming "No pictures, dolls. I look awful tonight", or something to that effect. But she wasn't mean at all.

Katurian2, that is pretty much exactly what I'd expect her to be like.

Call me strange, but part of me would be thrilled to be dissed by Patti at the stage door.

Hello "strange". : ) I've never actually met her by the stage door, but I'm sure she's nice. Remember, by that time, she's done her show, seen her dressing room visitors and then sees more people by the stage door. She must have a strong constitution to be in the biz. from RC in Austin, Texas
"Noel [Coward] and I were in Paris once. Adjoining rooms, of course. One night, I felt mischievous, so I knocked on Noel's door, and he asked, 'Who is it?' I lowered my voice and said 'Hotel detective. Have you got a gentleman in your room?' He answered, 'Just a minute, I'll ask him.'" (Beatrice Lillie)

Tell Patti that Bernadette was better as Rose and see what happens!

I ADORE Patti, but, if I ever get lucky enough to get to the City to see this show, I will say something shrewd along the lines of "Well, you sure aren't Bernadette, are ya?" and see what happens.... EEK! Suicide? I think so!

When i saw sweeney, she stuck her head out of a window from above and yelled down to us that "she's be just a minute, she had an important guest"
two minutes later johnny depp came through the stage door.
ten minutes later patti came out asking us if we saw johnny depp and bragged that she got to kiss him. She did stay for pictures and autographs that night and was very gracious.
best stagedoor experienceof my life.

when Gypsy was first at Ravinia she stayed and signed everybodys. At sweeney she took pictures and signed for pretty much everyone. She has always been really nice.

My experiences. . .
At Ravinia for "Anyone Can Whistle," she never came out.
At "Sweeney Todd," she came out looking irritated and said something to the effect of "OK, real quick." She signed a few quick autographs of the people right at the gates of the barricade, took one picture and ran off.
