I was pissed about Broke Shields photo shopped image for AF and now Marlo Thomas, does not even look like Marlo Thomas anymore...have we gone that low to not take a photo right? Any photo shopping involved really takes me out of the show and does not make me want to see it (sadly). Also, it should not be that hard to use a really good photo of that person (example below):
Here's the recent Marlo Thomas photo for her current show...REALLY?????

Sorry for the VENT!!!

I think it's more a problem of BAD photoshopping. It's very noticeable when an amateur does it.
If you want to see some truly un-photoshopped images, check out anything from a cast party on a Playbill or BWW gallery.
It looks super airbrushed. But quite honestly, the list of cast members caught my eye more than the picture!
Who is this? This is NOT Marlo Thomas.
true...I was like..wow...couldn't they just find a nice decent photo of her..I would love that more...
Yes, that pic above is credited as Marlo Thomas!
Here's an interview and pic of her from last year...

To be fair, Marlo Thomas really doesn't look like Marlo Thomas anymore.

p.s.
Looks a little like this picture from 2009(?).

p.s--I would loved if they used that one instead in the ads!

I think that is her current "official" portrait. I needed a picture of her and that shot is all over the web.
Is very upset on the way ads, images of shows and stars are now ALWAYS photo shopped...
"now"?!?!?! This has been standard practice in all fields of the entertainment industry for DECADES.

Was very distracted on the grammar, structure and verbiage in thread title are structured.
It's so bad, it's funny. Although Marlo Thomas does not look like a 73 years old, she still doesn't look like a 30something woman on that photo. That woman can play Marlo Thomas' granddaughter!
I actually don't think you're reacting to Photoshopping on the Marlo photo -- you're reacting to plastic surgery.
I think it's both. I can spot a bad use of the marquee tool, layers, and opacity, not to mention a lazy use of fill...

Maybe SHE commissioned this outrage known as Photoshopping?
But, yeah, the first pic is overdone and not even close to being representative of what she looks like these days. The second one doesn't look too airbrushed but more like an older picture of her.
She looks great at her age in un-Photoshopped pics. No need to have her face morphed beyond recognition like in the first one anyway.
If you recall, Elaine Stritch had quite a few years shaved off of her in the ads for Night Music. It's just par for the course nowadays.
That first one looks like an artist's impression of a murder suspect.
I was going to say maybe its intentially stylized for the show, but if its just her normal headshot then *shrug* its just poorly done!

Marlo Thomas looks like she's got her own promotional poster for Next to Normal now. :)

There was also the rather comical slimming down of Patti LuPone for the 2008 Gypsy revival. (Among other horrible things about the artwork for that show.)
