Yay!! The Joe's Pub photo flash was orgasmic...there were so many awkward-facial-expression-photos!
Ah I know. Especially the lip pouting face he had as his fb picture

Surely this photo wins an award for one of the most awkward Gavin Creel pictures? :p

Whoa! He looks borderline emo in that photo.

Haha I know right?! It's certainly not a look I've seen him rock before. For that matter I don't recall ever seeing him in fishnets either but yet again I am proven wrong!

BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA *breathes* BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
I'm not even kidding, my female gym teacher in middle school should up to my 8th Grade Prom (I know...a prom in 8th grade, WTF?!?!?!) looking just like that.
markcohen3, I just realized how much I like your avatar. I didn't even bother to look at it until now...and I now realized that it's Sir Gavin, and the title of my favorite GTN song (well...I change my mind on my favorite GTN song every 15 minutes).

Is there a picture of him in full drag? I'm not familiar with La Cage and I'm not sure if his character had to dress in drag...but I can swear he said that he had to do it at some point in the show.
The female gym teacher at my school (Who is quite butch & mean) looks like Gavin in drag.

ETA: I read that wrong..sorry.
Did Gavin dress in drag in La Cage? I've never seen the show. I know in The Birdcage the character equivalent to Jean-Michel didn't dress in drag at the end.

taylor, I found those two images when going on one of my numerous searches for Gavin related pictures. I don't recall exactly from where I found the pictures but I do remember it being from a magazine that had an article about the La Cage revival he was in along with the rest of the cast.
Jazz, haha that is a hilarious story (about your Gym teacher I mean). You'd have to be the judge as to who looked more unfortunate in that outfit "Sir Gavin" or her Also thanks for the avatar love! Like I said I do not claim responsibility for the creation of it. I lovingly borrowed it from a livejournal I found it on. And I must say you have good taste in music, although I have to say my favorite GTN song is either Rocket Ride or Radio Lover. But like you said that tends to frequently change :)
As far as his cross dressing goes in La Cage I'm not too familiar with the show let alone the revival so I can't say for certain whether he cross dressed or not. I remember in his interview with the Advocate they asked him about it and I remember him saying he was jealous of the drag queens because they were having so much fun. So I guess its safe to say he didn't do drag in it?

Well, Gavin's legs aren't quite as hairy as that disgraceful b**** I had for a Gym Teacher (my middle school years SUCKED, dude)...so I'd definitely go with Sir Gavin on that one. I too love Rocket (You should have seen that 'Rocket Ride' phase we went through a couple of pages back) and Radio Lover (which reminds of the song 'Wrong Way' by sublime...don't ask me why).
ETA: You should have seen how disgusting it was when that lady sand along to "Don't Cha". It haunts my mind to this day.
Thank you sososososososo much for sharing them!

Jazz, sorry to bring up memories of a bad time. Junior high sucked for me too let alone junior high gym class. Thankfully I just had older men as teachers so that at least saved me from any horrifying PCD sing-a-longs. I hope high school was/is better for you at least! Also don't even get me started on Rocket Ride haha! "For Nancy" though is one of my favorites, one I hope/want to sing for or at least have my mom listen to.
Taylor you are sosososososososo welcome! Hehe its the least I can do. With nearly 40 pages you all have posted many pictures of Sir Gavin that I have liked/drooled/swooned over. So I'm happy to return the favor!

Haha, I love High School. I, too, like For Nancy...I won't lie, it made me cry the first time I heard it. I'm not the type of person that cries to music very often, I've only done that twice before in my entire life (the other time was when I first heard Bach's Double Violin Concerto). It's pretty obvious to me what those lyrics mean...and they strike a chord with me.

I first listened to the song over a year ago and remember thinking "How can he be straight and write this?" Not in like an accusatory way or anything but disbelief at how he could put into words exactly what I feel as a gay teenager. Now after his coming out its pretty obvious how he was able to write those moving lyrics :)
Haha and maybe it'll be on his next album Cats! We can hope at least :)

So true. That concert has been replaying in my head since that day. Oh, and speaking of Gavin's family how cute is that youtube channel of his Grandma singinging? (He posted it on his blog, i'm not that creepy)

I loved his version of For Nancy/I Got Life. I actually posted it on FaceBook, and I NEVER post Broadway stuff on FaceBook (sadly, nobody even noticed that video). You're a teenager as well, markcohen3? Ah...I wish I had some sort of exciting inauguration ceremony planned to welcome you into the 'Teenagers who love Gavin Creel Club'! I, too, am a teenager.
Back on topic:
It's pretty obvious as to what he wrote For Nancy about..and he put it into words so perfectly.

In the video I saw, he said "This is for anyone who has ever felt different, and was worried that they're parents wouldn't be cool with it.".
Who said hippies don't like Beyonce?
