Just to let you know Gavin is interviewed in this month's edition of Attitude, the UK gay lifestyle magazine. There doesn't seem to be anything on their website (www.attitude.co.uk) but I assume you can get it somewhere Stateside because it seemed to spark all the Ben Cohen love on the Off-Topic board.
He talks about his music, his activism but gives little away about his love life. I found it to be an informative, entertaining and interesting read although the interviewer is a little naive at one point.
I thought I'd revive this wonderful thread. Was anyone else as Gavin's birdland show this past monday? Words cannot describe how fantastically, phenomenally, f***ing incredible he was!
"He found something that he wanted, had always wanted and always would want— not to be admired, as he had feared; not to be loved, as he had made himself believe; but to be necessary to people, to be indispensable."
-F. Scott Fitzgerald's This Side of Paradise
I was at Birdland on Monday too, and it certainly was incredible. Gavin really knows how to put on a great show, and I loved some of his new stuff ("Favorite Chapter" was a particular favorite of mine). I wish I could go to the next two - The 11/1 show was one of the best nights I've had in a long while.
I love Gavin Creel! But I wish I could see him in concert. I never do.
But I did see him in Thoroughly Modern Millie, and met him! He was really kind to me. I got his autograph and even got a picture with him! He's such a sweet guy. :o)
"I never think of the classic musicals as old-fashioned; I think of them as timeless."--Kate Baldwin
"There's nothing good on. The media hates Christmas. The media loves vampires, though. Maybe they will show a Twilight Christmas." -Danmeg's 10 year old son.
