I'll so freaking thrilled!

I like Jason Robert Brown so if Glory Days can be on Broadway, why not this.
God, with Billy Elliot, Disney shows and this next season will make Broadway look like a theme park!
Seriously? The tracks from the website sound so incredibly awful. I can't believe someone is willing to put money in this or that a Broadway theatre is going to be occupied by...THIS.
Yep, Broadway has gone the way of the tween!

Will adults go to a show starring teens? Not even sure teens will be interested. Most have not heard of JRB.
Yay! Looking forward to this!

tobiasragg, according to JRB, they've replaced half the songs and overhauled the book, among other things. It'll be interesting to see what the show is like at Goodspeed.

I totally bombed my audition to do this show with Goodspeed. I wonder how it'll be!

I feel like this is going to be the year of me disagreeing with everybody, since I really kind of like Cry-Baby and Glory Days, and loved 13 in LA. Please be easy on me, guys.
its Marshmallow it just means you have terrible taste. Not something illegal in this country.
According to playbill, Evan was a popular guy in NYC and moved to midwest. In L.A. production, there was no such background, Evan was a just regular kid trying to fit in the crowd. So the premise of the show has changed, and I hope the actor who plays Evan is really charismatic so that the audience will believe that he was popular.
Still I don't think 13 is good for Broadway. When regular folks with kids (read non theatre geeks) come to NYC and have a choice between "Billy Elliot" "Mary Poppins" and "13," I don't think they will choose 13 over BE.

I saw the LA production 5 times. Evan was always a popular kid in NY who moved to the midwest. "Just another cool kid from NYC, 'tween the park and the Met."
And taste is subjective, dude. I have DIFFERENT taste. If it's any consolation, I've given up on recommending things.

This will be LEAGUES better than "Glory Days".
The show will be wonderful. A band of 13 year olds, a cast of 13 year olds, a show about an age we all (devastatingly) remember with a score by the incredible JRB.
So excited!!!
nothing can be worse than GLORY DAYS or CRY-BABY.
13 will bring new life to Broadway... at least for a few weeks.
I love Jason Robert Brown's work but I feel like he needs to start simplifying. it just gets to be too much sometimes. sounds like he does accomplish a more simple pop sound, with this score.
will see it this summer at Goodspeed. I'm excited.
Wow.... Aside from the Mamet revivals the fall season doesn't interest me one bit.
It's about time!
This one's on the top of my list!
For shows not to see.
Regardless of how it does on Broadway, the show is going to have a long life in Middle School/High School and Youth Theatre productions. There just aren't that many shows to highlight teens.
I'm not saying 13 is a bad show. I'm saying it doesn't belong to Broadway. I'm glad you enjoyed the show, shesamarshmallow, but are you going to pay $120 for this show? For this show to be successful and recoup its investment, they need that kind of audience, not the people who see the show via student rush or TKTS.
I saw the show in L.A. via goldstar event (50% off) and for less than $30 I thought the price was right for this show. But I wouldn't pay for $60 (TKTS price).
Not interested. I almost always hate hearing kids sing one song in regular shows, there is no way I'd pay money to see a show entirely comprised of singing kids.
cape - it would be like seeing SPRING AWAKENING before their journey into puberty/on crack
Yeah for a musical at the Jacobs! Yeah for JRB! Yeah for 13!
