Enjoyed him in Harvey, this should be good

Is this a play or musical? (It doesn't matter much to me! I love Mr. Parsons! I was just curious.)
Check out how they list "God" as the playwright.

Yes, well, they even have a quote from God via his press agent.

I feel like Act of God v Hand of God is going to be very confusing.
Exciting!! I love that Jim Parson keeps coming back, he's excellent. But weird - they're waiting until after the Tony cutoff.
God's bio is hilarious. I love @TweetofGod on Twitter.

Harvey was also outside the cut-off. I'm sure it has to do with Jim's BBT schedule.
"The show, like humanity itself, will run as a limited engagement."
Jusr FYI, the book it's based on, and the play, is written by David Javerbaum, who has written most of the recent Tonay Award opening numbers performed by NPH. He's the former head writer of The Daily Show. And yes, his Tweets are great. (@TheTweetofGod)
I bet the producers of Hand to God are thrilled about this. Could they really not pick another title that was not as similar?

By most of, you mean the inferior ones to the ones Miranda and Kitt wrote.

"It's Hand *TO God. "
That's still similar enough that people will get confused.

Correct. It's not a Roundabout production. They're just using the space.
Oh interesting. Does that happen often? I just assumed it was Roundabout.

It happens sometimes. For a current example, Roundabout owns the Stephen Sondheim Theatre but Beautiful is not a Roundabout production. Would I assume this show's tickets will most likely be sold on Telecharge then?

Roundabout doesn't own the Sondheim. Bank of America does. Roundabout is the operator of the building.
"Based on Roundabout's track record of revitalizing and managing theatres, an opportunity was presented to Roundabout by The Durst Organization, the New York developer. In September 2009, Roundabout Theatre Company became the curator of the new state-of-the-art, 1,055-seat Broadway theatre, New York's first LEED rated theatre, built as part of the Bank of America at One Bryant Park project."

Oh Ok that makes sense. Sorry for the mistake, and thank you for correctly informing me.
I still don't get why no one uses the billboard atop the Sondheim. Beautiful has such little signage. But it doesn't seem to be hurting it.
Because the facade is landmarked. Part of the conditions of the renovation was that there was to be no signage on the marquee. It was a fight with the city to get the little signs on the sides.

If anyone is interested, Audience Rewards presale has started for this. I just got tickets for Friday July 3rd at 2PM - looks like that takes the place of the Saturday evening show on the 4th. Works out great for me - one extra show I can squeeze in on my Independence Day weekend trip!
