Box office says Parsons is out again tonight, but show is going on with understudy. Tonight's performance seems to be totally sold out, fyi.

Now THAT I'd like to see. Who is the understudy?
I'm very curious how his understudy will do and how many people will ask for a refund.

"Matt McGrath...GO Matt!!!

Presumably Matt McGrath. And he's no novice actor. I'm sure he'll be be excellent. In fact, he strikes me as more suited to the role than Parsons, whom I found to be miscast.
Miss EllieRose - You stamp your feet and whine,"It doesn't seem like a huge deal and canceling the performance cost them more than rehearsing ONE actor." IT. IS. A. HUGE. DEAL.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAA. You are HILARIOUS. Thanks for adding that I stamped my feet and whined. Cute. HAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAA. Nah, it's not huge deal. They should be prepared. Like in Falsettos. And that's my opinion and Im sticking to it. HAHAHAHA. Still laughing, you made my day, thank you!!!
If anyone is going tonight, I love to hear how Matt does.

I am suppose to see this Wednesday matinee. Upon arrival, I will go to box office to see if Parsons is out. I, for one, will ask for a refund if he is. Then dash for a last minute replacement.
McGrath apparently also just finished a run taking over for Terrance Mann in JERRY SPRINGER: THE OPERA a month ago.
He's really hoofing. Good for him!

I just spoke to Telecharge Customer Service and they claim he is back in the show. Hope they are correct, or at least back in Tuesday or for me, specifically Wednesday matinee. I would hate to go see Escape to Margaritaville instead.

Are those your only 2 options?

Parsons was the only one I didn’t care for in the play. I would have loved to have seen Matt.
I just stopped by the box office after work and they don't know who is performing yet. Sadly no SRO tix tonight (or maybe it's already sold out) but I'd see this again with Matt McGrath! I saw Jerry Springer and thought he was amazing in it!
Box office did say they will have a cancellation line.
Going tonight!

JSquared2, I am seeing 9 shows during my visit Wednesday to Sunday. My options are slim, since Three Tall Women looks sold out for Wednesday matinee. The other options are only rushes that I qualify for since I am not a student.
ArtMan, truly, see it with an understudy if need be instead of seeing Margaritaville. McGrath is an extraordinary actor, and Margaritaville is truly, deeply horrible.
If Matt is still on come Wednesday, I'd still see the show as well.
Saw the show tonight. Terrific production, and as you’d expect from someone like Matt, he was amazing for his first time on with probably too little preparation. If he hadn’t called for a line just a couple times, nobody would have known. No one should skip this or be disappointed just because one of the TV stars isn’t on.

How was Falsettos prepared? They had someone walking around with a script in hand playing a minor role on a few hours notice.

I’m so curious about this as I’ve never seen someone call for a line, even though I see most shows in previews! Is someone standing in the wings with a script? Does he literally say “line?” And someone says it out loud for him to repeat? Or is he wearing an ear piece? I find this all fascinating, what a tough job these understudies and swings have.
I'm also curious how they do that.
The only time I've heard an actor ask for a line on Bway was in Hello Dolly previews over a year ago when Bette Midler, during her highlight song "Hello Dolly", forgot a line but she played along with it and said "oh i'm too old to be still doing this...." then pointed to an audience member in the front row and asked her what the lyric was. After a second or two of catching her breath she remembered the lyrics and sang and danced the rest of the song.
In addition to the above, I wonder if they actually cut out the confetti or if they fixed the phones so the phone cord won't be all over the place.
For those of you unfamiliar with Matt McGrath, he's in one of my favorite movies called Broken Hearts Club (scene with Justin Theroux) below:

I was at the first preview for Liasons Dangerouse and Liev called for a line. The person was in the front row. It’s not just understudies.
I was at tonight’s performance. McGrath did a very fine job especially considering the circumstances. He seemed quite hesitant (which is completely understandable) and had to call for “Line” only twice. It didn’t seem like many people asked for refunds as I didn’t see any empty seats in the theater.
On another note, I was in the last row of the orchestra and had trouble seeing the second level because of the balcony overhang. I believe those seats should be labeled “Partial View” upon purchase so people can decide if they want those seats or not based on that.
Otherwise I loved the show and wish I could see it again!
When McGrath called for line he was fed the line by someone off stage on a god mic. So the audience heard the prompt loud as could be.
For the record, none of the actors are above the title, so wouldn't that technically mean the tickets are not eligible for refund? Or is that rule just a myth?
