I mean, it's in Los Angeles, land of the weird, so it makes sense.

Your ignorance is showing.
Here is the Los Angeles I know and love.
It's in LA, therefore, it doesn't matter in the least.
So....
This is the art of Bunraku puppetry:
...and this (from the show's website) is "a sneak peek into the amazing work Puppet Designer Robin Walsh is doing".
Because everything about this is so outrageous, it can't possibly be real.
Read the text on the show's website about the "Amadeus/Salieri relationship that existed between Michael and Donny Osmond". I mean, c'mon... This has to be a prank (and a funny one at that)!
This is SO hilarious. Love everything about it!
Did God turn Michael white to get revenge on Donny Osmond and the Mormons for teaching that black people were cursed?
Are Jehovah's Witnesses telling the truth when they teach that masturbating can make you gay?
Only one person knows the answers and... everyone thinks he's just a glove.
It might be the most f'ed up musical you'll ever see. And it's got puppets. Come meet the hand that grabbed Michael's gland in Neverland.
Where in LA is this playing?
"Your ignorance is showing,"
Stating an opinion about a city isn't ignorant. I have been to plenty of places around the globe that I would describe as bizarre, strange, terrible, and yes, weird. No need to be defensive regarding a location. :)

What made you think I welcomed unsolicited advice from you? Thanks all the same, but my comments stand.
...and there's this:
"Each night For the Love of a Glove will raise money for a different cast member’s chosen charity. Please stay tuned to see how much we raise! "
The role of MJ's glove will be played by The Thing from Addam's Family.
I honestly think the musical would be better told from the point of view of MJ's ever-changing nose.

Ok, now that I've read more about the show and the plot, this actually sounds kinda awesome. It's so over-the-top and insane a parody, it's like Team Starkid's Long Lost Brother that was raised by gay wolves.

Finally, after all these years, another shot at show business.

I...I just...what? This can't be real.
Page Six: Johnny Depp producing musical about Michael Jackson
“I’m known for writing a lot of biopics,” he said. “A major TV network wanted me to write a [Jackson] movie … but the question came up [about] how to deal with the child-abuse allegations.” When the network and Nitzberg disagreed, “I said, how’s this? Everything MJ has been accused of has actually been caused by his glove, which is actually an alien from outer space [and] feeds on virgin boy blood. They laughed and said, can you do the normal version?” But, “It was morally kind of repugnant to me to do … I turned down a really big paycheck.” He thought, “I’m going to go back to this … and do this as a musical.”
Honestly, I'd much rather see this. No one could pay me to see the PR-repo "MJ".

I suspect a joke is being perpetrated on us.
Talk to the Hand
My understanding is that, after this, Depp plans on producing a musical about Prince as told from the point of view of his platform boots.

Well, of course, Mr. Depp has nothing to do with this and never did. This reeks of amateurville - at some theater called the Carl Sagan Ann Druyan Theater downtown in what looks like Skid Row to my eye. It's author clearly wrote his own Wikipedia page - read it. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Julien_Nitzberg
