I wish she opened NIGHT MUSIC instead of CZJ (but I enjoyed the glamour of the CZJ/Lansbury pairing).
Can someone who is actually good at writing (e.g., JRB etc.) write her a show? kthx
At TimesTalks she said that she wants Aaron Sorkin to write her a play and then have Danny Boyle direct. When someone asked her about the possibility of ever winning a Tony she said, "I'm gonna be on Broadway, and I'm gonna win that f*cker!"

Wasn't Winslet (despite being too old) the first choice to play Kyra in the SKYLIGHT production that eventually came to Broadway last season?
Will never happen, but I'd love to see her in a revival of Hare's PLENTY.
I'd love to see that. Has she ever done stagework, at all?

I believe I read she fought to play Slyvia in the original version of Finding Neverland
There are so many great roles for Winslet. She could pretty much do whatever she wanted. And I'm sure she's been offered everything under the sun.
This article from 2014 seems to indicate she hasn't worked much in professional theatre:
While her children are young Winslet refuses to work back-to-back. She also, despite much cajoling from just about every great director, has yet to take on a theatre role. 'I’m not prepared to miss seven bedtimes a week,’ she says.
She's always been thirsty for hardware. Of course she would do it for the Tony.

If Kate wanted to do Broadway she wouldn't have to ask twice. I only hope it would be in an adventurous new play and not a safe old one.
If and when she comes to Broadway in something worthwhile of her talents, she has the chance of completing the EGOT by taking home the Tony

I see her making her debut in something safer, honestly. She'll do The Seagull or Three Sisters like everyone else. I could be wrong though, her film choices have always been strong and adventurous.

Her risk-taking on film strikes me as someone who would do a new play than a classic. Her comment on wanting Aaron Sorkin to write something for Danny Boyle to direct her in sounds about right.
While we're at it, can we have Danny Boyle on Broadway, please? His Frankenstein at The National was incredible.
I hope she does something new.
Wasn't she rumored/ approached for the Night Music revival?

She was one of the high profile names that was being heavily considered/courted once the casting started reaching its final phases.

She went to drama school as a kid and did many stage productions as a teen but I don't believe she's done any theater since she's become a star. But she certainly seems capable.
