Seiber would be great as well. I honestly didn't see Katie Finneran in this so the choice took me by surprise. I'm happy for her, I hope she will be great. Wow, now if they would get Laura Osnes for Grace this revival could really be something special.
Now THIS is exciting!!!!
The more I think about her in the part the more excited I get, her "Little Girls" is going to be a tour de force. For me, this revival went from mildly intriguing to must-see with this casting alone; and know he cast Finneran as Miss Hannigan, I have trust that Lapine will get a great cast going with this revival, how exciting!
Congrats to her, I know the team has been waiting for a little while to announce.
If they were to announce it today, it would have been done already right?
I can't wait to see her, this casting just got me way more excited for this revival.
Also Sieber would be excellent casting, I'd love to see that.

She's attached to 'Cinderella'.
"How do you feel about Victor Garber, or Stanley Tucci? I think they'd both be divine!"
Garber played Warbucks in the 1999 Made for TV adaptation and he was very good.

Isn't that movie from 1999? Anyway, I liked Garber a lot in that, if they're going for a star name he'd be a good choice but I wonder if he'd even want to do it again since that movie was over 10 years ago.
I would like to see Paulo Szot play Warbucks.
Finneran is awesome casting. This revival is shaping up to be quite legitimate. Very excited.

Jane krakowski as Grace?
Either the New York Times or Ms Finerman read BWW. She addressed everything we were talking about here. Now those anyone have the number for Seiber island?
I doubt they'll get a name for Grace, since it's such a thankless role.
420 turned this thread title to Katie Finneran is Broadway's new Hag...LMAO!!!
Jane Krakowski is more of a Lily than a Grace, and at this point in her career she wouldn't play either role.
WOW! I was a bit surprised since I'm used to this role being played by women who look more like Rondi Reed...but I guess there is nothing in the script that says that!
Dorothy Loudon looks nothing like Rondi Reed.
Perfect casting! Almost makes me want to buy a ticket. (Always loved the character but disliked the show.) I've been a big fan of Kate's since seeing her play Neely in an Off-Broadway production of Valley of the Dolls years ago. It was her final performance, and the company played several practical jokes on her during the course of the show. It was hysterical watching her try to keep a straight face and not break character. I literally laughed so hard, my sides ached for a couple of days.

Congratulations to Katie she's a great choice. As for Warbucks, Paolo, are you on crack! Warbucks is a titan of business during the 30's. So it would make no sense for him to be Hispanic, let alone with the accent Paolo has. Most of the time i have no problem with color blind casting but this case the story is too rooted in the 30's.

An earlier post wrote that he thought Katie Finneran was too young for the part -- she is 42, Dorothy Loudon was 44 when the original production opened.
Too many of you are used to seeing tired bus & truck tours and regional theater productions where the role is usually played by actors of a certain age (mid-50s - mid-60s).
I do agree with another poster who wrote that Finneran will be divine in the part.

I think the poster meant that Katie looks younger than she is which is true as well.

Perfect casting, I love her and her voice!
THIS TOTALLY SUCKS!!!!!!!
Well this secret certainly seems to have been kept successfully- nobody was predicting this.
Rare to see such unanimous praise on the board.
