Danny, thats so funny. Wicked was my first live professional musical about two years ago. And I caught the bug. I started to learn about more shows and found this place in June. Obviously I am no expert and have yet to see a lot of shows, but I am learning, mostly from this site. Sorry, I felt I had to share that because of similar stories :)
Anyhow I knew I knew Chandra from somewhere, Hairspray, duh. Excited to see what she does with the role.
Ah, well that makes sense. I thought it may have been pre-recorded as there was a moment when she kind of hesitated and I thought she might not sing it, but it certainly makes sense if someone else sang it for her. It seemed a little sketchy, I got the impression that I just wouldn't hear it so I assumed when I did that she sang it live.
I saw them in Louisville in January from the front row, Katie did sing the note when I saw her. Katie, not an understudy.

Has anyone talked to KRC at SD and found out FOR SURE when her last performance is? Hearing she may stay on until Chandra is ready, also hearing the two understudies will do the role for a week until Chandra is ready. Any inside info would be appreciated.
"She did sing the last note in "Thank Goodness" today. I made sure to pay special attention, and actually for a second I thought she might not do it. I'm not sure how it would even work if she didn't sing it, but she did. "
I saw her twice, and both times, nobody sang the last note. She sang the first quarter of it, then her mouth shut, and she stood there looking heartbroken, both nights. I was a tad disappointed!
Anyways, thanks so much for answering my question, and paying special attention to that part!
Oh God...Just when I thought it couldn't get worse.

And Chandra, an absolutely terrific Glinda, so funny, SO active.....SO giddy......she was a joy to watch
It is ridiculous to set a detective story in New York City. New York City is itself a detective story...

By "this generation," I meant younger people like Katie. Not people who are still pretty young and already established as major talents (Audra McDonald, for example). Just read any of NickChopper's posts to see how he's an idiot. Btw, I never said I'm not an idiot.
