Couldn't be more excited!!!!
Love her! Love this, can't wait to go see her!
Doesn't she have a talk show?

Good for her! I wonder if they'll change the lyrics from "I'm a young Norwegian princess or a milkmaid" to "I'm a young Egyptian princess" like they did in the 1997 version?
Speaking of race, if they cast an actor that does not have wavy hair or blue eyes to play Prince Topher, would they change the lyrics of "He Was Tall" and "When You're Driving Through the Moonlight"? I'm just curious.
Btw, I wondered the same thing too regarding her talk show, but Wendy Williams had a talk show while doing Chicago, so anything is possible.

Amazing news! I think this will definitely boost sales and give the show a breath of fresh air.
Wonderful! Can't wait to see how she does. She'll be lovely!
@degrassi-I think they'll definitely change "Her neck is no whiter than a swan's" to "Her neck is no longer than a swan's"

Oh dang, I totally forgot about those lyrics! They will probably change "Her cheeks are a pretty shade of pink, but no more pinker than a rose is" to maybe "her face is exquisite, I suppose, but no more exquisite than a rose is." Now that I think about about it, there are many race-specific lyrics in Cinderella.
I think Keke will be amazing! She'll bring a fresh perspective and new life to the role and show.

This Playbill article makes it seem like she's making history. Considering this is the first production of the show and it's barely been around for 2 years, I can't help but feel that this "history" is a lot different than Norm Lewis' over at PHANTOM...

Hell Yeah!
i'm guessing the only way people even know of her is her singing, either her music career or her acting career in which she sings in nearly every single one (or at least on the soundtrack)

I thought the lyric was:
"Her neck is no WIDER than a swans."
Saying that she has a thin neck.
I could be wrong though.
I'm actually really excited for her in this!! I wasn't on planning on seeing the show again, anytime soon. But now, I think I might have to! Congrats Keke!!!
This is the first thing that has even remotely made me want to see it.

Is there a better producer than Robyn Goodman?
I remember when I posted a article on the casting for the stepmother and it noted that she was in talks to play this role at the very, very bottom. So I am really glad that they decided to go with her!
Anyone know who they went with for the stepmother role? NeNe or Sherri?

My guess is that Robyn does indeed know, but being the smart producer she is will be spacing out the casting announcements to achieve the maximum publicity.
I wish Keke all the best, and I think her casting is brilliant. I hope it brings an entirely new audience to the show.

Yes, that's what they did in 1997 TV adaptation.

Love KeKe Palmer and have loved her since "Akeelah and the Bee"....and have loved everything I have ever seen her in since.
Now I definitely need to go back and see this. What a great casting job.
She would probably be done taping her show by September since it tapes in LA.
