She mentioned in Entertainment Weekly she's always wanted to do Broadway and would revive "Funny Girl" if she had the chance. Thoughts? I'd go see it!
Some girl who has only sold 20 million albums, has 12 Billboard Music Awards, 4 American Music Awards and 3 Grammys. She also happens to be an incredible singer who won American Idol the first season.

I like her charisma and her voice, but I've never seen her act.
Has she?
Well, whoever she is, we can only hope this madness passes quickly from her thoughts.

Only in From Justin to Kelly...which doesn't count.
But yes, I'm in.
She's been pretty upfront with her acting abilities. Saying she's not so great. But I love her, and I'd see her in anything. You can YouTube her singing from the show at her concerts.
I love her . But she is a shiksa and wrong for Funny Girl.
She can't act. Her xmas special was atrocious. The voice is killer and I own all her stuff, but I don't find her particularly charming and she can't dance either.
She'd be a great narrator in Joseph.
Oh - an American Idol, pop-singer. No, I would not buy a ticket for that.

Would she be the perfect choice? No, but I'd rather see Kelly make an attempt than sit and watch Lea overact.

"No, but I'd rather see Kelly make an attempt than sit and watch Lea overact."
Not only that, Fanny Brice was a commedienne. Lea has absolutely zero sense of comedy. She's just not funny.

THIS!
"I like her charisma and her voice, but I've never seen her act.
Has she?"
Never. See FROM JUSTIN TO KELLY.

She has said several times over the years that she has zero desire to be an actress. I even feel like in this interview statement she knows she shouldn't play the part, but still would want to.
She would be ok in the right part. I could see her being charming and a good Annie Oakley.
She'd sing a killer "The Music That Makes eE Dance," but I couldn't see her play the role in a full production. But I adore the idea of her as Annie Oakley!
She's talented but I don't know if she has the pipes to sing the score 8 times a week. Or the acting skills.

The pipes she has. She goes on long tours all the time, and her music is fairly difficult to sing well consistently. She's one of the few pop singers who could handle the Funny Girl score without problems.
Funny Girl. Will never happen!
Next crazy idea...
She doesn't have the physical comedy chops.
Have you heard her songs? She can handle this no problem. But, one of the many reasons I love her, is that she's very upfront about her talents. She knows she's not an actress. But that said, I'd see her in a heartbeat.
Here's her singing "My Man" - also, check out her Christmas Album to hear her sing "My Favorite Things." Her take is all wrong for the actual show, too jazzy, but I love it.
